This restaurant, located in a hotel in Madison, offers impressive dishes with unique flavors and sauces. The braised calamari was a standout, served in a flavorful broth with peppers. The strip steak was cooked perfectly and the duck breast was delicious with a great salty-sweet balance from the dried figs. The prices are slightly higher due to the hotel location, but the portions are satisfying. The atmosphere was nice, but not as romantic as expected. The seared scallops and crab cakes were cooked well, with the scallops being a favorite. The swordfish special was also a hit, with perfectly cooked fish paired wonderfully with various sauces. Overall, this restaurant impresses with its food quality and variety of flavors, making it a recommended dining choice.

great food. we stumbled over this place in madison. I was a little empty of going to a hotel restaurant, but my seizure was set to rest when I saw the menu. I had the duck that was served over noodles. eating was amazing. I'm not sure why this restaurant isn't pulled out of the hotel because I'm sure they'd do much better alone. that was a great meal and I would recommend it to everyone. View all feedback.

Impressive. We had intended to start with something else, but the waitress said the braised calamari was one of the chef's specialties, so we followed her lead. I have only ever had calamari in the common breaded and fried fashion, so this was certainly a change of pace. It was served in a broth with peppers, which didn't overwhelm the calamari but provided a really great range of flavors. The calamari itself was a little chewy, but we still liked the dish. My wife's strip was cooked perfectly and my duck breast was terrific. The skin was crisp and well seasoned, the meat was a nice medium rare, and it had a great salty/sweet balance with the dried figs--a really great plate of food. This place is apparently known for the three unique sauces the chef offers with each dish, but we barely touched them. The food was good enough on its own.As with most hotel restaurants, the prices are a little higher than you'd expect, but the food does impress. Portions were easily enough to satisfy. Service was fine. The atmosphere was nice, but not as impressive or romantic as we had hoped. The crowd was pretty light on this midweek visit and we seemed like the only diners who weren't staying in the hotel.Grade: B+

Impressive. we wanted to start with something else, but the waitress said that the braided calamari was one of the specialities of the chef, so we followed her lead. I had only calamari in the common broth and fried fashion, so this was certainly a change of the tempos. it was served in a broth with paprika, which did not overwhelm the calamari, but a really great selection of aromen available. the kalamari itself was a little chewing, but we still liked the court. the strip of my wife was perfectly cooked and my gut breast was fantastic. the skin was crispy and well seasoned, the meat was a nice medium rare, and it had a large salty/sweet balance with the dried coigs- a really big plate of...more
