Was Nico Lederer at The Bywater a mag?
Chicken was piping hot, crispy and super juicy on the inside. French fries were well seasoned. The shrimp PoBoy and Bengiets really made me miss New Orleans. I'm so happy that there is such a delicious and authentic southern restaurant in the south Bay. Will definitely be back to try everything else in due time. View all feedback.

What Haylie Mraz dislikes about The Bywater:
We had food poisoning from the oysters with projectile vomit. Additionally portion sizes and seasoning for gumbo and jambalaya were tiny and disappointing. As in ladle of spicy soup with three mussels and bowl of rice with sparse vegetables respectively tiny. Really disappointed with the whole experience. Drinks are well made and strong though View all feedback.

I was excited to try a Southern restaurant, being from the South and having eaten many iterations of creole/Cajun dishes. This restaurant delivered on the promise of thoughtful flavor and intentional, themed cocktails. The creole fries are probably the best I've ever had. Same goes for the hush puppies--they had a nice crust and the interior was not mushy like many I've had in Florida and Mississippi. I appreciated the decor and the general atmosphere. The server was perfectly pleasant and checked in at appropriate intervals. Get the beignets and make sure you double dip those babies in that powdered sugar after a healthy immersion in chocolate sauce. I'd eat here again, for sure.

Had the most amazing breakfast plate today. Everything on the plate was done right and they accompany each other so well, even the sauce options. It’s my first exposure to southern style brunch. Will def come back to explore other stuff on the menu

Service was very good. Seating was efficient, servers made sure that everyone was taken care of and were prompt. I would describe the food as decadent. I had the brisket and the french toast. The french toast was lovely, it had brulee'd bananas on top and it was sweet enough on its own without syrup (I don't enjoy things that are too sweet). The brisket had a very strong hickory flavoring, and the meat was soft and fatty. Overall good, but not something I personally enjoy eating large quantities of, since the combination of strong smoke flavoring and high fat can give me heartburn. If you like strong drinks that are sweet, there's a lot to enjoy, but if you're like me and prefer less sweet drinks then you're pretty much stuck with things like the coffee or tea. Even the lemonade packs a punch. I would recommend this place for social gatherings, but don't get outdoor seating if you have allergies. There are a LOT of trees in the area.

Bywater is not disappointing. if they love oysters, show up before five to get the happy hour pricing on a dozen or 2 and a few happy cocktails or glasses wein, then they stay at dinner. it is casual and yet high quality, especially if they love seafood. I tried the whole menu at this place quite. the fried chicken is always a winner. .

An absolute joy from beginning to end. all eating was amazing and service was professional and friendly. luck hour is about 230-5... check the website, not my memory. there was a special happy hour menu that had lots of cocktails, weine, beer and a good sample of eating. the dinner menu comes at 5 and has some seasonal elements. I want to go back before the soft dish is crumb dish from the season.
