The restaurant has received a mix of reviews, but overall the sentiment seems to be negative. Customers complained about rude staff, long wait times, uncleanliness, lack of authenticity in the food, and high prices for what they received. Some customers were disappointed with the quality of the food, mentioning cold and unappetizing dishes. However, there were a few positive reviews as well, praising the variety of Portuguese food, the buffet options, and the friendly service from the owner and staff. It seems that the restaurant may have some hits and misses, but could potentially be worth a visit for those interested in trying authentic Portuguese cuisine.

Was A M at Nova Lisboa a mag?
We stopped for lunch in our way from Detroit to Toronto. I would say it is a very simple and honest restaurant and I was not sure if the meal would be good. I was positively surprised by the quality of the food as well as the cordiality of the staff that was very supportive and provided us attention. View all feedback.

What Azad G dislikes about Nova Lisboa:
The most rubbish Resturant ever I have seen.they forgot part of our orders then they serve alcohol drink as normal fuzzy drinks. we ordered very expensive red wine the starter and food came yet no sign of the drink and after I reminded them then when drink came the guy left the wine on the table and said some one will come and open that and that take another 30 minutes and once that guy came my guesses have already E... This is a pleasant family-run restaurant. We were greeted and seated quickly. Meals included soup and salad and dessert buffets in the price and with our share of a bottle of wine and tip, we were still only $70 for the two of us.The food is excellent, and the staff and family are obviously proud of their little place. Not the world's classiest high dining, but comfortable with really good food in nice surroundings at an excellent price.

We were in London for the weekend and decided to try a Portuguese restaurant. Nova Lisboa came up on our search and we picked for two reasons. The reviews were good and it was buffet style. Since we have small children we didn't want to wait long for the food. Let's start with the way the place looks. Rundown. From the outside all the way in. The food is next. It was ok. Nothing special. The potatoes were very greasy the chicken was dry. The trays were almost empty when we got it. They didn't refill them until more people came. They had rice, potatoes, chicken, some kind of s beef stew and two types of fish. For desert they had two different puddings which were warm. I wouldn't qualify that as a buffet. I asked how much per child and she said they had no children price. They give you a child price based on the amount of times the child goes up to get food. The waitresses were ok. Nothing spectacular but the reviews I read for thus restaurant were definitely overrated in the sence of not being accurate

My wife and I have travelled to Portugal on several occasions and it was great to find Nova Lisboa offers many of our favourite Portugese meals. We enjoyed their lunch buffet recently prices at a reasonable $13. There was a great selection of items and everything was well prepared and fresh. The service was even better than the food. The restaurant itself was very clean and bright and we felt like we could have been back in the Algarve. We The buffet is only available during the lunch period so we will go back and try out some of their regular menu items.

I went in for the lunch buffet. All I can say is that it was recommended to me by a Portuguese friend and he was right on the mark! Authentic food, attentive service. I had great fun chatting with the ladies about the ingredients and cooking methods....heck the soup that day came out of her garden that morning....it doesn't get better - GO!

My in-laws and myself have been going here for years! Last night our experience was nothing close to what it was with the previous owner. This is the only restaurant my father-in-law will go to and we wanted to all go out because his niece was leaving to go back home today. The 10 of us arrived at the restaurant around 7:00pm. Knowing very well on Thursday nights there will be a few construction workers there having a few drinks and maybe a table or so of people there to eat, which is exactly what we walked into. Upon arrival I advised that there was 10 of us, where I was greeted with nothing but attitude by the waitress. After a sigh we were told "well you're just going to have to wait". Once we finally sat down we waited 20 minutes before our drink order was taken, which she walked away half way through us ordering because another tables food was ready. She did come back 10 minutes later and take the rest of the order and our food order. We were missing 3 drinks in total when she brought them back. For anyone that goes here knows that you get soup and salad buffet with every meal. There was 1 non Portuguese soup as an option and the salad bar was very picked over. We had 3 kids in total who ate cucumbers and croutons while we waited. The Portuguese buns that were place on the table were rock hard and stall. We requested a few more buns and received Keizer buns! We finally received our food around 8:50 and at that time it was us and a table of 4 in the restaurant. Everything was messed up! No ones meat was cooked properly and we ended up switching around food with each other to make sure everyone received close to what they ordered. We asked for 3 steaks well done and we received 1 close to well done. Once we finished she began to clear the table, she went to clear my brother-in-laws plate and we said oh no not that one, we will need a take out box. This was followed but yet another sigh and "yah I know"!. By the time we finished and were ready to pay it was 9:30. I do understand that we were a larger party but this has never been an issue at this restaurant. We have had numerous family dinners, lunches and even events at this restaurant in the past, where you were always welcome with open arms and big smiles! After not only the horrible service but the difference in the quality of food, my family will not be returning to this restaurant. As I stated earlier, this is the only place my father-in-law will go eat and he even said that he will never be back. Things have really changed since this restaurant was sold. I have NEVER in my life had a waitress walk away more than once in a middle of an order and get mad when asked for more drinks.
