"Nach einer schönen Radtour freuten wir uns auf ein gutes Essen beim Palast von Kreta. Lange im voraus reserviert, wies man uns einen Tisch am Durchgang zwischen zwei Räumen zu. Schon am Eingang roch es nach Zigarettenrauch. Wir konnten es garnicht glauben, so dass wir trotz Rauch zum Tisch gingen. Je mehr uns bewusst wurde, dass in diesem Restaurant tatsächlich geraucht wurde, beschlossen wir zu gehen. Nach 5 min. Aufenthalt stanken unsere Kleidung übelst nach Zigarettenrauch. Versetzt in eine vergangene Zeit. Der Chef am Eingang guckte nur verdutzt und ein Kellner fragte, wo wir denn hin gingen. Wir sagten, das Lokal sei total verqualmt. Er konnte uns geistig nicht folgen. Weitere Erklärung zwecklos. Gut, dass wir spontan noch ein perfektes Ersatzrestaurant gefunden haben."

"The first time I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant was April while on a delayed honeymoon. A number of years passed by, then while vacationing in Bremen, I luncheon there again, but several years later the restaurant was closed. Then to...my surprise it was open again in I don’t know when it opened again. I arrived just before noon, and the second customer there. After choosing a seat, then came the always difficult decision – what to eat-. My choice was a fish dish with homefried potatoes, vegetable and of course Bremen’s own Beck Beer both were yummy. By the time I finished, the restaurant was fully of customers. You will find the Kleiner Ratskeller, just a few steps away from the Market Square where the Roland statue is… They are open Monday to Sunday – I definitely would eat there again."
