"Monkeypod Kitchen was fun and lively in the evening of our visit. Live music made it loud and fun as soon as you in, although the ambience is uplifted. The cocktails are well designed and meet the place. I enjoyed the seafood market and it was fantastic. Our large group also received fun and hospitable service. "So disappointed. When we got there (a few minutes early) we were told there would be about a thirty minute wait. So my boyfriend and I tried to kill time and grab a drink at the bar. that did NOT go well. We were totally ignored. We tried to get the bartenders attention a few times, even made direct eye contact, but he never helped us ... So, after about ten minutes, we walked down to the other end of the crowded bar. The bartender on that side was nice and smiled, but she told us she was a service tender for wait staff and we would have to order on the other side ... So we went back to the other side and continued to be ignored for another five minutes. SOOOOOO we left and walked around the parking lot for a bit and found a place downstairs that sold beer by the can. My boyfriend bought and as soon as we cracked them open our table was ready. We went upstairs, and the waitress rudely confiscated his not-even-sipped-yet beer because you cannot bring outside beverages ... OK, whatever, I get it. it SUCKED because we *wanted* to buy drinks at the bar but no one would help us. but the REAL kicker is that when I made the reservation, I mentioned that it was my Boyfriends Birthday and requested that they bring him something with a candle in it to surprise him (I said on the reservation that I didn't want him to know I told them it was his birthday and that I wanted it to be a surprise) ... while we were eating, a table next to us celebrated a birthday with a candle, so I was certain his would be coming at the end of the meal. Nope. Nada. So for his birthday ... all he got was bad service and his beer taken away from him. (and again, I get it. no outside drinks. but she was real rude about it) I felt SO bad!!! it was our first night in Hawaii and I wish we would have gone somewhere else. What an (expensive) waste of time and money."

"Stopped by for brunch and enjoyed friendly service, tasty breakfast and great coffee. I picked up a few bags of coffee to bring home and wow- they’re fantastic. While I was there I had a few of their pastries which were all wonderful, but the lilikoi pastry was especially divine. I didn’t snap a photo of it before I devoured the whole thing but trust me, you need to try it."

"Came here for our 1 year anniversary. Food and service was just great. First compliments to our waiter Bill. He was thorough when he had to have room in the right times. He was always super helpful. Even our food envy gets caught at times and explains what dish we looked up. Extremely friendly, even if one of his other tables was rude. Our meal. Bill talked me into the Abalone and it couldn't have been better. My wife had the scallops and tortellini, which was equally impressive. Surprised how great the handmade Tortellini was! For dessert we made the strawberries. Comes with a pretty show and presentation that doesn't disappoint. Would recommend this to everyone! The strawberries were fantastic with the fixations and the big Marnier. The meal was expensive (also about what we usually consider to be expensive), but we knew that in. The key is that it was worth every penny. Thanks for the wonderful experience Bill?"

"Recommendation: Come here for the view and convenience as it is in the four seasons when you stay there, but the food is not unforgettable. Worse: truffles do not have any taste or truffle at all. They were nice and removed it from the bill, but still. The Tamahawk-Steak was served raw when we asked for medium-sized rarity, we had to send him back and it was overcooked? Best: gnocchi were super soft and the tomato soup was good. The rest when the food was good, but nothing I'll remember."
