"We called in for lunch on a Sunday and found the place peaceful just as we like it. No screaming kids or loud music. We were served by a very pleasant young lady who was generally attentive but spent much time engrossed in whatever was on her laptop computer. We did not find the ante pasta attractive so gave it a miss. The main course menu was excellent but the dessert menu rather limited. The quality of the food was excellent in every way and we did not wait long for it to arrive. My only criticism would be the prices which were a little over the top for what we received. Two mains, two desserts and two bottles of water were over £50 an expensive lunch. We felt that there are other restaurants in the city that offer the same quality of food but less expensive."

"What a truly amazing place, booked two nights for my wife’s 50th dining in the restaurant on one of them. First the room was beautiful, we had a garden room and it essentially felt like we were staying in our own little cottage whilst benefitting from all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel. The evening meal was genuinely amazing and I had the fish pie on a recommendation and thought I’d died and gone to heaven it was absolutely perfect, and this was followed by a fantastic cheeseboard. I’m always slightly nervous in Michelin star restaurants as they can be a bit stuffy but this was pitch perfect service, relaxed, friendly but also very good. Breakfast was unsurprisingly amazing and I was tempted away from a full English on the second morning to try the Black pudding hash cake which I can heartily recommend. All in all a perfect visit and we will definitely go back."

"I've been around. 7 years not in mccoys, as I found the service always slow and eating the money was not worth, but I visited today and was very pleasantly surprised. the menu has improved so much and is really varied, and the service was excellent. we were in a rather large group and several people ordered burgers that we were told would take some time, but everything came fast! the prices are still quite high for a lunch café art by vibe, but the eating is excellent and the portions are very much justified. I will not leave it so long to visit next time"
