Very friendly and welcoming staff... me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant for my birthday dinner and I am a chef back in Scotland so I know good food... pasta was cooked to perfection, only thing is the translation on the menu is not the best as we ordered a spaghetti pasta with 'scampi' but when it arrived it was spaghetti pasta and prawns.

We booked Dolce Vino for NYE as we had been at the restaurant before and liked the food. However, we weren't able to get a good impression that time as we occupied a reserved table and only had an hour for a main (they told us so upon arrival, so fair enough!)As soon as we stepped foot in on NYE, the staff began discussing in Italian were to put us, and eventually led us into the less nice downstairs area. Not a big deal. A menu on a blackboard was plunked next to us. There was no a la carte on NYE. Again, fair enough, they had informed us. The waiter asked what I wanted to drink, I said I needed to see the menu, he turned and pointed at the blackboard menu which did not list any drinks.I eventually ordered a glass of house red, my boyfriend a weissbier. As starters we had aubergine Siciliana. It arrived swiftly, was very tasty but somewhat cold. Shortly after our mains arrived: pizza vegetariana and mushroom ravioli. Both dishes tasted nice; however, again a little on the cold side and nothing special. It all began making sense why the staff did not want me to see the regular a la carte: the prices were put up for NYE. That is fair enough, however, in most restaurants you get something 'extra special' for the NYE version of a dish. Not here. Food and price is not the reason why I am rating this place average. The waiter seriously ruined the restaurant experience. In short, rude and inattentive. One example of this, and I rest my case: he walked past us, my boyfriend's beer was empty, as it was cold enough in the restaurant, he asked if they had muelled wine. He responded 'nein' and continued walking past, never offering any other drink, never mind desserts.

Called in here at the end of the night when just passing. Although quite late the waiter was really helpful and friendly. The food was exceptional really tasty and fresh. With a good selection of drinks. When we had finished we asked for directions to the metro and the waiter walked with us until we could see the station.

Let's start with the good news. The service was friendly and welcoming, the wine was good and we managed to sneak in a last minute reservation for eight on a Friday night (which can also be read as an indictment of the restaurant's popularly).Where Dolce Vino disappointed was unfortunately in the department most critical for a restaurant: the food. The Scampi a la Siciliana was an oversalted mess. The tomato sauce was bland, with no trace of the Mediterranean herbs that ought to give it character. The dominant flavour for the entire dish, despite promising olives and garlic, was salt. Lots and lots of salt. A diner with high blood pressure could probably be finished off by Dolce Vino's tomato sauce. The "daily side dish" consisted of bland cooked potatoes, broccoli and a few strands of spinach. All of it was flavourless, and none of it was fresh produce. The reasonable bill, good service, wine and the excellent tiramisu dessert were redeeming features, but ultimately you judge a restaurant on its food, and in this department Dolce Vino did not impress.

Arrived here with no reservation and manage to accommodate 2 and 3 children! We had a gorgeous dinner , a few drinks and then the only disappointing thing was a very limited dessert menu! But we got over this and we're offered a free sambucca which was nice! Thank you ... lovely place very reasonable price . Highly recommended
