We went on Shrove Tuesday lunchtime and the pub was very quiet. However they were expecting a lot of people for a large function that evening so maybe that's why there weren't many locals in. The fish was excellent and lightly cooked as we asked requested. There is a very good selection of drinks, especially real ales, on the bar and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this pub. read more.

In beautiful weather you can even eat in the outdoor area.

Food ok but a bit pricey for what we had. Main issue for February was it was so cold. No CH and what look like attractive fires but they need to go on a lot earlier for a comfortable lunch, or you need some fan heaters. read more.
