While the atmosphere remains warm and inviting, with friendly staff and a pleasant garden, patrons note inconsistencies in menu offerings and portion sizes. Although the pub provides a range of choices, it often lacks adequate snack options and suffers from slow service during peak times. Some dishes, like the steaks, have missed the mark, while others, such as Sunday roasts, have drawn praise. Overall, this establishment holds promise, but improvements in consistency and service quality are essential for a return to former glory.
The food at this restaurant is pricey and lacks options for a lighter lunch. However, the main course was delicious.
Last weekend, during our trip to Gloucester, we enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant.
Food was tasty, but had run out of so many things even at 4.30pm, even milk! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
Very pleasant pub serving some good food. The service was excellent, notably Aimee, who went above and beyond. There is a good menu with choices to cover all tastes. Prices are what you might expect. Being next door to a Holiday Inn Express means that the clientele is transient but well treated by the staff. Sadly, there was no craft ales available on our visit, but other beers were available. Worth a visit if staying at the HIE. Price per person: £20–30
