Contribute FeedbackLocated just a short drive from Hobart city center, this wood-fired pizza place is a hidden gem in suburbia. The pizzas are described as delicious and full of flavor, with options like the Margarita and the finer things standing out. The use of high-quality ingredients, including cashew cheese, has been praised, although some wish for more melty vegan cheese options. The venue itself is charming, with plants and fairy lights outside and a water view adding to the ambiance. Despite the busy atmosphere on a Sunday evening, the service was efficient and the pizzas arrived in under 20 minutes. Overall, this unpretentious restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere, great local wine and beer, and large, tasty pizzas at a reasonable price. Highly recommended for pizza enthusiasts looking for a cozy dining experience in Berriedale.
The facility was dirty and the staff needs to speak more education in English. pizza had no taste. with more training would be ideal for great improvement.
What a surprise it was to find a place that serves food of this quality in Berriedale. I had heard people raving about it and decided on it for my husband's birthday as a surprise. I wasn't sure where it actually was, so I did...a reconnaissance. To be honest, during the day the exterior of the building doesn't give much hint of the treasures that are served inside. The pizzas are amongst the best I've ever had. The crust is thin and tasty and the toppings are incredible. Each week they have a brand new special available for that week only. You can also enjoy the drink of the week while savouring your pizza. To top it all off, there is a bespoke ice cream sundae each week. There seems to be no limit to the creativity of the chef and the combinations seem effortless and endless. This is certainly a meal not to be missed and close to MONA too.
Being vegan you can sometimes feel like you're an after thought on a menu but Local Pizza really do try. The best cashew cheese and the dough is so lush! They even cook it in a wood fire oven which adds extra flavour. Would highly recommend to anyone, vegan or not.
Went to the place with my family and found the place buzzing with people and enjoying their meal. There are several communal tables and we were able to join in one. The menu looks impressive and they have freshly baked cookies on the bench too. Our order was made and paid for and we could see how the staff were preparing the pizzas and placed in the auto wood-fired pizza. Our order arrived and it sure delivered. These are the best ever pizzas that we have tasted. We will come back here again to taste the other flavours and we have already told our friends about this place.
This was an absolute gem of a pizza place. Located in suburbia it is worth the all of 10 minute drive from Hobart city centre. We visited here on a Sunday evening and the place was pumping (good sign). Great mix of families, young couples etc made the atmosphere really great. Don't worry if you have to wait for a seat it's worth it and the tables turn over relatively quickly. The pizza itself is a fantastic wood fired number which was beyond expectations for portion size and $. If I was a Local (no pun intended) I'd be here a couple times a week.
