Was Penguineats at Grosvenor Hotel a mag?
With such a motto as “The Meat Experts”, we expected nothing less at The Grosvenor, and it’s no surprise the highlight of our meal was the Rib Eye.Perfect execution, quality cut and nicely paired with a wide section of wines and beers, we might have just found our new favourite steak joint! What OpenTable Diner dislikes about Grosvenor Hotel:
Disappointed in the food and time it took to arrive. Poor quality steak, folded over to look like a decent size, very grissly potatoes were as if microwaved from yesterdays roast. The huge, whole lettuce leaves in the Caesar salad were browning and the dressing was splashed at the bottom of the bowl. Seemed to take ages from time of order, and didn’t appear overly busy. Definitely off our list of local eating places. View all feedback.

The meal fit for a king began with a Grosvenor Tasting Board featuring a selection of wagyu bresaola, prosciutto, salamis, cheeses, smoked scamorza, bocconcini, and Sicilian olives served with rosemary and sea salt focaccia. For the main course, the Beef Wellington consisted of eye fillet wrapped in puff pastry with mushroom duxelles and prosciutto, served with cauliflower puree, porcini jus, chargrilled broccolini, and bitter leaf salad. Dessert options included a rich chocolate pudding with rhubarb jam and hazelnut praline.

I ordered the Mother's Day special for two last Sunday and it was absolutely fantastic. The presentation was beautiful, with a box containing flowers and a welcoming letter. The portions were generous and everything on the menu was delicious and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional from the moment I placed the order to pick-up time. Thank you for making it so easy to celebrate with my mom. We enjoyed it and can't wait to do it again soon.

The Grosvenor is a top-notch pub that specializes in beef dishes. They offer a variety of steak cuts and qualities, including regular and dry-aged options. We kicked off our meal with the delicious grilled prawns, which had crispy shells that you could even eat if you desired. For our main courses, we tried the scotch fillet and prawn spaghetti, both of which were exceptional!

The Grosvenor is a spacious, moderately upscale pub conveniently located between Balaclava and Saint Kilda East. The menu is extremely vegetarian friendly and includes a selection of veg woodfired pizzas, a delicious tomato gnocchi, and an eggplant parm if you want something less bready. The eggplant is topped with cheese and pesto and full of flavour. It pairs surprisingly well with a side of sweet potato chips. The polenta chips are a bit less oily than the sweet potato, with a nice crisp exterior. They make a great starter along with a Caprese salad, abundant in burrata and basil. I also enjoyed a side of broccolini and green beans to freshen things up a bit. Speaking of fresh, the lemongrass tea mocktail is super refreshing and not too sweet. Service was quick and attentive and the space was comfortable. It's large and would make an ideal venue for groups.
