Heard this was a bit of a gem in town and looked forward to eating there while i was in a Town closeby in business. Very short menu with typical german fare..

Nice place to have a good beer and a reasonable meal on the busy terrace near the place where the ferry Moors on the Rhine have to have; friendly service

I'm surprised there's never been an evaluation of this little jewel. The restaurant is located directly on the Gernsheim ferry via the Rhine. Outside you can observe how it comes and goes as well as other boat traffic on the river. Eating is local... German cuisine. Good, delicious, decent portions. I was born in the area and taste is very authentic. We sat outside in the beer garden on a summer day and watched the sun. The place seems to attract a fair number of people, so was busy, but not crowded. It was a Monday. I had a nice boiled ferryman Schnitzel while my friend enjoyed a rag steak. It was Rumpsteak Monday. The menu has special items that change the day. We also shared some of the local hand cheeses. Everything done and filled. The site says they occasionally have live music, not when we were there. I'd be happy to go back there.

This is a beautiful picturesque half-woody tavern with a beer garden very cozy! It is a simple, pleasant walk from the ferry landing on the Rhine. My husband and I had coffee, our friends had a mixture of currant juice and Seltzer, we all shared a bunch of salty, freshly baked soft pulps. Fantastic. There were also cakes and larger foods.
