Overall, the restaurant has a lovely view and is perfect for breakfast with friendly and accommodating staff. However, some guests were disappointed with the food quality and service. There were issues with unavailable entrees, overcooked steaks, and tasteless side dishes. On the other hand, the crab cakes and oyster selection received high praise, as did the Sunday Brunch. The upscale ambience and outstanding service were highlighted, making it a nice alternative to other restaurants in the area. While there were some hiccups with certain dishes and service, the restaurant did offer to make amends in some cases, such as providing gift certificates for future visits. Ultimately, the experience seemed to vary depending on individual visits, but the potential for a good meal and atmosphere was evident.

I have been to a good number of the restaurants around Gainesville, and I can say that Backstreet Blues is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

It seems that the only way to respond to a comment is to update a review Ed, you did offer to remake my meal.

Ate here w our kids and had a nice meal. Kids had a buffet designed for them which worked out great and. Ore higher end restaurants should heed this call. $15 each but included lots of choices which kids love as well as deserts and a drink. I had the swordfish which was a bit overdone and a bit tasteless. My wife had the filet which was served over a tomatoe based medley of zucchini and squash which really didn't go with it very well. Read reviews and told side of Russell sprouts was roasted but they arrived steamed and again tasteless. All in the best part of the meal was our excellent waiter. Ate at pacific grille the night before and that meal was a lot tastier.
