Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant offers a variety of seafood options with good service and a cozy atmosphere. Multiple reviews mentioned the fresh and delicious fish, especially the halibut and chips. The staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. While some customers had mixed experiences with other menu items, most agreed that the seafood dishes were the highlight. Despite some complaints about outdated decor and occasional disappointments in non-seafood dishes, the majority of diners were satisfied with their meals. Overall, the restaurant seems to be a reliable choice for seafood enthusiasts in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Went for Breakfast, asked for a smaller portion As I have had surgery.... Waitress exclaimed, NO CHANGES to the menu... When the FOOD arrived it was mediocre at best.... This establishment has openly asked for community support, and then doesn't want to accommodate their customers. NOT RETURNING
Our team had ordered a crab boil and the lady kept bringing different items over a period of time. There were no plates, fork of knife just plain table cloth and items were dumped on the table directly. It started with chicken wings, potato wedges, cron, carrots, mussels, shrimps and carbs. It went on for ever. They even provided bibs.
I was told of this place by a friend and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the cod and halibut combination, deep fried and battered, although I could have gone with a light flour coating or breading. The fish was very good, cooked just to the right amount, and was tender and tasty. In retrospect, I think I may have gone with the light flour coating and will do this next time. The pieces were generous in size and it was evident that the fish was quite fresh. It was served with good portions of french fries and cole slaw. The service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant is licensed, if you want to have a drink of alcohol (we didn't). There was no beer on tap but a decent selection of bottled beer. We arrived and ordered our food at around 5pm, so it was early for dinner, and though the restaurant was mostly empty, I don't believe that is generally representative of it's popularity. The location was easy to get to, and not too far out of downtown (if that is where you are staying). The restaurant is decorated in a seafood theme, with lobster cages hanging from the ceiling, which is to be expected but which was appreciated. The furniture is a little 'tired' looking, but the venue was clean and tidy, so I certainly didn't mind. Prices were reasonable, and we also shared a home-made apple crisp with a sizeable scoop of vanilla ice cream which was amazingly tasty. We shared it three ways and with the rest of our meals, there was almost too much food (I was very fully when I left!). Overall I highly recommend eating at this restaurant if you are ever in Fort McMurray. I fully intend on returning.
In 1984 this was considered the norm in how we fed ppl in restaurants. Today service , product supply and quality of food is very much more he normal expectation. Don't go here we asked for a beer selection, oh we have one, the calamari were poor at best. We thought ok the fish has to be ok, 3 out of four plates served to our table were not good fish presentations. And at 48 dollars for a steak and prawns not at all worth it. Go to the keg for Less money and far better selection and service. I'm giving this the worst ever dining out experience in Fort Mac
Always guaranteed great service starting from being seating right away to paying the bill. The food is tasty, not fake, cooked just right !
