"Love this store!! I stop on my way to and from work. Get gas, diesel, propane for the BBQ and coffee for waking up all in one stop! There are seedlings in the spring, ice cream in the summer, fresh apples in the fall, and Christmas trees in the winter. All from local suppliers! This store is so closely connected with the community they know your name, your vehicle and your favorite pizza (yes, there's a Square Boy there too)!! Of course there's your standard convenience store fare, but it includes cheese from Wilton Cheese and meat from Quinn's Meats - both local. If you want points, this is a certified Esso so you can collect points on everything. Truly a hub in the community!"

"I often frequent this little bakery on road trips that take me north on Hwy 41 as it is a short 10 minute detour off the highway. It is a great little spot to stop for lunch to break up the drive to the Ottawa Valley or to Land O Lakes cottage country. Stop in for breakfast or lunch for a sandwich and pick up some bread, baked goods, specialty mustards or sweet treats for the weekend at the cottage. The bakery itself is quite small, with limited indoor seating but there is a lovely outdoor patio. The staff is friendly and they are always eager to please. They offer a Friday pork ribs by the pound special; the recipe changes weekly. The sausage rolls are the best I have ever had, in fact I have from time to time special ordered large quantities to use for parties at home."

"If you're cottaging near Verona, Ontario give yourself a treat and stop into Martha's Place in Verona for a great meal in a friendly, small town atmosphere. You'll likely get a chance to meet Martha, the lovely owner who makes everyone feel at home. I was lucky enough to be there on a Friday night and a Sunday morning. I don't know if the menus for the rest of the week are this good, but I had an awesome dinner and am amazing Sunday breakfast. And I guarantee you won't leave hungry!"
