We took friends for dinner knowing that there is a menu gor everyone. One person enjoyed flatbread because they featured a gluten free crust. We loved the stroganoff, and had lamb chops which can come with or chops. Great dinner, with entertainment and great service View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Le Papagayo:
Telling patrons that they have to within 2 hours is rude . Will never go there again. Spent 250 bucks . Overall okay . I guess they have too much business to feel comfortable to kick out customers. Will not go back. View all feedback.
Great food and service! If I could recommend that on the outside patio nearest the street and before you seat somebody that you clean the table because I found the table a bit gritty when I sat down and had to ask for it to be wiped. (I get it with thesand and the road...just a suggestion) The singer that was there the night of September 28th is good, but needs to level hertones and balance her voice; in my opinion. Our waiter provided great service but really needs to get over his shyness andengage with the customer. Question though; if I am not mistaken, there is a dedicated bike lane that they took from the road? If so, why did I have a couple of bicycles ride next to my table opposite of their (walked) dedicated lane? On an awesome note, the Short Rib Pasta was awesome and the braised short rib was spectacular!!
I visited this restaurant for the third time and had a reservation for 7:30 pm, but arrived at 5:30 pm hoping to be seated earlier. Although the restaurant was busy, they were able to accommodate us, which was great! I had enjoyed my previous visits, but our dinner last night was especially memorable thanks to our fantastic waitress, Emma. She was friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the scallops, which were perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the prime rib and quickly devoured it. He also loved the ribs, while I enjoyed the mussels. The drinks were delicious too. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant more often, thanks to the wonderful Ms. Emma and the amazing food.
I recently had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in San Diego at this restaurant. We ordered the shrimp and grits as well as the Papagayo skillet, and both dishes were full of great flavor and generous portions. The shrimp and grits had big, thick, crispy pieces of bacon and large chunks of bell peppers, all perfectly seasoned and cooked. I will definitely be returning to this place in the future!
Had a fantastic breakfast here. The place was super fun and love that it was open to the outside. The food was delicious and priced very well. I definitely would recommend and go back. I took pics but apologize I started eating before I remembered totake them lol.
This establishment embodies the motto "Go Big or Go Home". The restaurant is spacious, offering an extensive menu with generous portions. The concept of "Tapas" portions here is quite different from the norm, but it definitely works in their favor. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, along with TVs and live music in the evenings. Happy Hour on Tuesdays lasts all day, although it can get quite crowded. We started our meal with the Honey Spicy Shrimp and the Shanghai Baby Back Ribs. The shrimp was crispy with a sweet and spicy chili sauce, while the ribs were tender and flavorful with a savory soy-based sauce. Both were highly recommended. For the main course, we tried the Skillet Filet Stroganoff and the Fresh Halibut with Blue Crab. The filet was slightly dry but the stroganoff sauce was tasty, while the fish was cooked well but needed more seasoning. For dessert, we indulged in the delicious Buttercake with sweet cream ice cream and the Vegan Sorbet Trio. The Buttercake was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, a real treat. The sorbet trio was a delight with flavors of Cabernet blackberry, mango, and coconut. The only downside was the slightly rushed service. Our appetizers arrived just as we were halfway through them, leading to our entrees arriving too soon. A few adjustments in timing and this dining experience could easily rank higher. Overall, a rating of 3.5 with potential to improve to a 4.0 or 4.5 with some minor adjustments.
