What momuranof doesn't like about FireSide Classic Grill:
We sat at our table watching the server go to the table near our table at least 3 times but didn't come to our table to take our order. We waited and waited patiently until the server went to another table where the people had just sat down. Their entire party wasn't even there yet. We were so angry about it that we walked out without ordering any food. I have no idea if their food is good but the service was terribl... View all feedback.
Decided to eat hear as my relatives had never tried it. What a pleasant surprise. Seated and served by John who I'm guessing was the owner/manager??? Super friendly and very funny. He kept us well entertained with his quips and witty remarks. 2 of us had the fish and chip special of the day (1/2 price) and it was very good. Large piece of haddock and loads of fries with cole slaw. Excellent inexpensive meal. Other meals were a classic burger and a beef dip wrap. Excellent portions and good prices. Would definitely return next time in town.
I was there with my family we had nachos and chicken wings and poutine it was delicious and our services was great not a lobg wait
It was a real pleasure to find the Fireside open on Canada Day and really nice to see the restaurant so full this early. I just wish that our citizens responded consistently to the owners' attempts to provide good service and choice over a wide time range. Sadly the Fireside has had to cut the weekday breakfast start time from 9.00am to 11.00am - unfortunately bad timing as the summer months are when visitors are seeking somewhere good to eat - and for breakfast there is no real competition!
We stopped in last year on our way through and again this year. It's a nice spot, there are not many choices in Elliot Lake and they have done a nice job with this restaurant. Clean and bright and nice decorWe met a lady on the way in and said we would sit at a bar table, she said sure and we sat. Another lady was pouring drinks and serving the table 2 feet away from us. We watched her for a few minutes , she went back to their table and got them another round and went away. We saw here come back, pour a couple drinks then go back in the dining room. We watched that a couple times , sat for 13 minutes, finally asked this lady when she came back to our neighbours 'can we get a drink' she said 'oh the other waitress hasnt come to see you yet?' . Then the other lady came out and apologized, sorry I was busy. Were about 4 tables in the entire place taken , the Bar lady knew we were sitting with no service while she walked past us several times over the 13 minutes. Food was good but a bit pricey for portions, I get it, it's way up and everything seems to be a bit more up here , food was fresh and well presented and server was good after initial start. Its becoming a regular thing where service just isnt what it used to be, when you are out on a special trip or date night it would be nice to always get that great service, have servers that are engaged and happy to be working, nonetheless for the other reasons I still rate this spot as Very Good
The food is great, all though I am not a fan of the decor and seats the service was great. I would recommend the fish and chips excellent
