Place was very good. I felt like eating breakfast at 7 p.m., and this place filled the desire perfectly. Food tasted good and was worth my money. It is also not far from my house and the server was very friendly. The reason I left a 4 star because I have been in places where the potatoes and eggs feel fresher and more tasty than homemade cooking (Cricket's Country Kitchen in Sacramento), while here it was only good a... What User dislikes about Mel's Diner:
I've been to the Mike's dinner in Elk Grove for a long time, but tonight we had the worst food I ever had. We ordered the special was a Rib Eye Steak and Parwns. We ordered a well done and an extra well done, both coming out where ****. Blood was everywhere on the plate. When we cut in it, both steaks were raw. I'll do it with a napkin. View all feedback.
Mike’s Famous 6 oz. New York Steak was perfect! It was tasty, tender and medium rare as ordered. And, when most restaurants have raised their prices so ridiculously, Mike’s Famous 6 oz. New York Steak is reasonably priced! Even the scrambled eggs tasted good!
The pork chops had great flavor the eggs were done right The pancakes were nice and fluffy and not rubbery I wish I can leave notes for things like ketchup and utensils but I was able to call in and get that straightened out
The burger was good, but the meat was overcooked. I wish the online ordering on the Doordash app included how you want your burger cooked. Coleslaw was nothing special, but a generous serving.
I thought Mikes Diner was amazingly good, fresh, hot and delicious. The sausage, had browns, bacon, eggs and biscuit was perfect. It was delicious and I cleaned my plate. Definitely will be ordering from here again.
Everything on the menu is good! Good value, fresh ingredients, priced right, and the portions are huge! This will not disappoint.
