"Since my grandparents used to live in the next village, my family and I have often eaten at Gegendtaler Hof throughout the years. Recently, we had lunch there and I decided to write a review as the region is popular by tourists who come for the lakes and ski resorts nearby. I had the "Bauern Burger" (Farmer's Burger), a huge portion for a moderate price. In fact, quite a few main dishes are less than 10 EUR and are always good quality and nicely prepared. Admittedly, it is your typical Austrian rural restaurant, so don't expect either haute cuisine or fancy decor, but the owners always try to offer both regional and seasonal fare, which I appreciate. Services is friendly and quick, and there is a play area for children both inside and outside. In summer, you can dine in the garden as well, although I personally don't find that area very inviting. All in all, Gegendtalerhof is definitely one of the best places to eat in the area."
