I have been coming here with family and business friends for a few years now. Overtime I have loved it. I cam for dinner with my daughter tonight, and this was no exception. We always enjoy the service, they are all so friendly and they treat us like family. And the food ..... they have the best Tomato Bocconcini Salad I have ever had, anywhere. We love the Truffle and Tomato pasta as well. Tonight we also have the Mussels in White Wine and Penne Aglio e Olio. Everything was wonderful, as always.I really do love this spot.
Friends decided to make this our year for Italian Lunch. Cafe Amore is listed as one of Edmonton's top ten restaurants, sooo off we went. It deserves it's reputation. Our main dilemma was trying to choose from the interesting menu. Finally settled on Caesar sale and the shared pasta selection. The salad was the best I have had with fresh lettuce, garlic toast , and crispy prosciutto in a creamy dressing. The shared pasta came with a choice of three pastas, each one delicious, presented on a large platter. Enough for all and some to spare. Our coffee was great, again, a small point, but one often disappointing. We would all highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return.
Saturday night date. We shared a artful and delicious Caesar salad. Then halves of penne pasta with a cream and tomato sauce. Tiramisu fresh and enjoyed. Drinks were the must not be missed Caesar and the house Sangria.
Went with high expectations due to all the good reviews but was not disappointed. A dozen or so creative cocktails to choose from; I had a raspberry mojito. Calamari was not breaded as usual but came in a delicious garlic and tomato sauce and the texture of the squid was pefect. Creamy pasta with shrimp was super creamy and very large portion. Salad was pricey but huge even for two people to share, and the candied walnuts on it were very delicious. Atmosphere is casual romantic. Smell of garlic from the kitchen is divine. Perfect place for a casual date. Their crazy signature dish with the entire lobster on top is 100+ dollars; you would only get that if you were sharing with a large group of people. There's a little patio at the side but we found the sun too bright at lunch time and moved inside.
This was my first time here . Went on recommendation of a friend . Tuesday night and made a reservation 2 weeks prior . Reservations are a must I'd say as the place was jumping . Although you can sit at the bar and ther were a few chairs there empty at times . We had really good service . Our waiter was lots of fun . To start we had prawns in whiskey peppercorn sauce . These were delicious ! The sauce to die for . Friend had a penne in a sambuca cream sauce I tried it and yummy ! Very good. Another friend had the spinach salad which was awesome and huge . My husband and I had the sweet curry with chicken and pasta and it was great . The menu is varied with tons of seafood and pastas . We will go back . My 4 stars instead of 5 is for the price . Not a cheap restaurant but mid range . Oh and we shared the amazing tiramisu which is homemade .
