Just remember to take any alcohol that you may want as they do not sell any. That, however, is about the only negative, because the food, the degree of heat, and the width of menu accompanied by the service, makes this a really good place to eat. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Kohinoor Tandoori Indian Restaurant:
I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and we were informed after placing our orders that there was a minimum spend requirement of $20 per person. This not only dampened our appetite, but I found the restaurant's strict policy to be quite extreme. They may be losing customers with such rigid rules, and should reconsider the system they have in place. Not everyone is willing to spend that much just to dine... View all feedback.

We went there for our first date in Australia. The rice and the curry and the samosa tasted super delicious.Would like to come back again.
We have eaten here several times and often have take away meals. The food is always very tasty and prepared quickly. Lovely large restaurant which is clean and inviting. Staff always friendly. Would definitely recommend for a large or small group.
An impromptu visit on a Friday night found the Kohinoor only moderately busy.Unfortunately we didn't know that it was a BYO restaurant so only soft drinks for us!The samosas were lightly spiced with a light pastry, the lamb curry in a coconut and cashew sauce was delicious. The accompanying coconut rice was fantastic. The naan bread was light and very garlicky but so tasty. The service was good and the meals were of a reasonable portion and price.Well worth a visit.
Visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago which is right in the middle of Geelong town centre. Staff are very friendly and polite and the restaurant very clean and tidy. The restaurant is quite large and would cater for several large groups at once. The decor is nice but the one silly thing that bugged me like you see in many places is a large super large tv on the wall with a paused picture on it and music coming from a seperate stereo somewhere else in the restaurant. I know it sounds petty but why do restaurants do this it seems either it's on but paused or seems to be turned off for some reason, which defeats the whole idea of having such a large tv on the wall in the first place. Better to have Indian music playing a pictures of India in a continuous loop, anyway I'm digressing from the review so let's get back to the food. We had onion Bahji to start which where crispy and yummy. Mains we had a bowls of basmati rise to share and I ordered the chicken Madras and my wife ordered the prawn curry. Both arrived in the traditional chrome and copper serving bowls and both where delicious. We also had a garlic naan bread which was large and tasty. We didn't wait long for food either which is great as some restaurants you seem to wait ages. Food here is not badly priced in fact quite cheep but doesn't affect the quality of food served, this will explain why it was busy for a week night. To sum this restaurant up - friendly, clean, great atmosphere, great food, cheap and right in the town centre and close to parking, what more do you want. A little gem gets my thumbs up.
