The setting is perfect. Along with the rooftop bar and live music it is hard to argue for a better venue in Durham. Service was exceptional as well. The waitress was extremely attentive as there were not a lot of patrons at the restaurant. But the food didnot hold up it?s end of the bargain. Ordered the stuffed flounder, octopus and also crab cake appetizer, with the ribeye aswell. Crab cake was good with moderate fl... View all feedback.

What Barb Moore dislikes about The Roof At The Durham:
The food was fine, if not inspired. There were no appetizers available during the brunch menu, so ordered a bunch of toast and preserves for the table. Not the best food I've ever had, but definitely not the worst. View all feedback.

Cute boutique hotel with a mid-century modern vibe in the main dining room. The Bloody Mary was excellent. The food was meh. The service was slow.

Friendly, responsive staff. Food was good, although my wife ordered a kind of trout that tasted like salmon, which she greatly dislikes. The staff responded well to the situation by providing another option and not charging us for the original order. That was a great customer service gesture. Overall, was a nice experience.

We enjoyed our dinner. Nice experience but nothing remarkable.

Not sure what was going on, but there seemed to perhaps be only one server for Saturday brunch. We waited over 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We had to flag down the server to order food. Luckily the servers’ station was in the middle of the restaurant bc we had to get our own silverware and water refills.

The Brunch food and surroundings were really lovely. But the service was much to be desired. We asked for more time to look at the menu, and then struggled to get anyone’s attention for a good 10 minutes. It’s really loud at brunch, which didn’t bother us. But it’s something to keep in mind if you are hard of hearing or you prefer a quieter brunch place. Most likely we won’t be back.
