Was turtleveg at Pompieri Pizza a mag?
I love wood-fired pizza and i'm so glad we have a place to get a creative and tasty vegan pizza in downtown Durham! Chef Aaron is vegan and has been doing a nice job at getting creative vegan options on the menu and specials. He created a vegan fresh mozzarella that is delicious, and it is now on the permanent menu on the Vegan Margherita. The daily veggie special is often vegan. A recent special: Vegan dill béchamel... What Ashliebe dislikes about Pompieri Pizza:
I think it's great they make the vegan mozzarella in house, and everything is very hot and fresh. The pizza wasn't that flavorful and the oil they put on it is very odd. I think without the oil it would be a good snack. We ordered 4 pizzas and all 5 of didn't enjoy it to order again. View all feedback.

This is a great spot for anyone who loves good wood-fired pizza, but it's also a great place to recommend for anyone who's vegan and/or gluten free! I'm

I haven't been to any of the other Durham pizzerias, so I can't compare Pompieri to them, but I can say that it was delicious.

Pompieri has some of the most authentic neopolitan pizza I've tasted in the U.S.! HUGE shout out to the crust - that absolutely makes or breaks a pizza and

The first time I went here many years ago I was impressed with the in-house cashew cheese. The second time I went was a few months later and our pizza was greasy and just not quite as good. Today we went back and the food was quite “mid,” as the kids would say. The pizza was super oily, the crust was half burnt, and the vegan cheese had a slightly off-taste to it (my boyfriend thinks it tasted like coconut oil). I ordered the “garlic” focaccia and I’m not sure why it is even on the menu. It’s room temp bread with salt on top. I wouldn’t eat that if it was free at Olive Garden so I feel bamboozled having paid money for it.
