Tonkatsu Omelette in Brioche Bread is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Went a second time there and ordered a Matcha Mille Crepe, beautiful and smooth, not too cute, so good with some freshly brewed latte! It has now become one of my favorite cafes View all feedback.
What Elias Kunde dislikes about Double Cross Espresso Bar:
It stopped me that a customer came in after me, was served in front of me. Being friendly and everything is good, but to be aware of it is just as important. Grief

Decided to take the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon for $ 16.50. 63 degree eggs picked up my attention, with both Tolks not running. Disappointing. Of course, the chefs did not take care of the timing of the eggs very well. Much smoked salmon and wi... View all feedback.
Double Cross is a warm and welcoming cafe in the middle of crows nest. The BAE (bacon arvo eggs) roll is delicious and fresh. They know their coffee and make a delicious batch brew. The best thing about this cafe is the staff, who are friendly, helpful and fast.

We thought we'd try this place out as it had some nice tables in the sun on a cold winter's morning. Before we sat down we asked the friendly waiter if they had fruit toast - he said yes. Two minutes later when we ordered said fruit toast he said "No sorry we don't have that". Then when my wife tried to order a decaf he said they didn't have that either. He pledged us a free hot chocolate to make up for the inconvenience - but at bill payment time we still got charged for it. My espresso was quite good but the hot chocolate was adulterated with some additive flavour that ruined it. Hot chocolate should be hot chocolate, you can't add another ingredient without asking and think you are doing us a favour. I ordered the eggs on toast - with an extra egg because I was hungry. When it arrived I had to pile all three eggs on 1 piece of soggy undertoasted toast!! My wife ordered the french toast. I looked forward to a mouthful, when I did, it was awful. It didn't taste like french toast at all. It was bitter and sour. Sorry Double Cross, but you blew it.

Ventured out to check this cafe on my fren's recommendation today. It's a nice little spot located at Willoughby road, crows nest alongside other eateries. The menu seems to be an amalgamation of different cuisine styles like Japanese,Italian, as well as Aussie. I ordered the tonkatsu tomago sandwich and it was quite lovely. I just wished that it was a little bigger in size lol. The coffee was terrific. They use beans from edition coffee roasters. The coffee had a bite and cuts through the milk nicely. I also tried the brazilian single origin as 3/4 flat white. It was mellow and had the chocolaty undertone. Had a brief chat with the co-owner Quinton and barista Zin. They seem to be very nice and welcoming. Highly recommended!!
