"Visited with my elderly mum who has mobility difficulties. We had had a very difficult and slightly traumatic day and my mum and I desperately needed a sit down and a cup of tea and something to eat as we'd had to miss lunch as...well. We managed to park pretty much right outside as my mum has a blue badge, although there is parking for anyone for 30 mins. Not long but maybe enough for a cuppa and cake! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and extremely thoughtful and assured us that it would be fine to get a sandwich and a pot of tea even though it was 3.30 when we got there and they closed at 4pm. The food was lovely and fresh and the cake very good and we loved the way it was served on vintage china and a lovely proper tea pot with loose leaf tea. The tea was very good and plenty of it. They could not have been more helpful and considerate and definitely went the extra mile for us. Poppy's is a really lovely and beautifully decorated tearoom with some gorgeous vintage pieces as well as small gifts and cards. We felt it was a really special place with lovely people and lovely food and we will definitely be back now we've found it! Thank you to them for giving us a happy end to what had been a very challenging day for us."

"Very disappointing. Took ages to be seated and the restaurant was cold, we were given a table right next to the service station so there were servers coming and going all the time. Asked what the Kansas caviar was and the waitress didn't know, which is something that you would expect them to, or for an explanation to be on the menu. The food was good but not spectacular and over priced. More interested in bums on seats than customer comfort that table should not be there. Also saw servers decanting mayo and other sauces into the same bottles. Can understand some sauces but mayo?? How old is that mix??? "Having paid for a meal at the time of ordering confirmation of payment being accepted I was astounded to find the delivery driver had been sent back to our property, banging on my door to ask for payment at 10:30pm as his manager had sent him back. This is despite us telling him it was already paid for when he first delivered the meal at 7pm. He wouldn 't accept the fact and knocked on again after we 'd closed the door. To make matters worse, when we called up to confirm we 'd already paid and it was showing deducted from our bank, the person who answered the phone said well, if you think you 've paid! . We don 't think we paid, we know we paid and told you this 4 times. Having spoken to Eddie, who was a manager that kindly called me back from the landline, after I was told the manager was not in until tomorrow, I can accept the explanation of a mistake on their part but not that someone found it acceptable to send the driver to my door to confront my wife at 10:30pm, without any face covering, 1 foot away during COVID. Atrocious experience."
