Very nice when decorated for the holiday. We had a place on the window. Our server was great, and the food and drinks were delicious!
The landscape and ambience are difficult to beat in Coeur d'Alene. Our server was excellent knowledgeable and friendly. The food was very good... I'd say the steaks got better reviews than the trout. However, the French onion soup and wine list were excellent.
The food was excellent as always. The service was not stellar yesterday, which is very unusual here.
Given the wrong menus. Since it took the server almost 15 minutes to appear (said he was setting up a conference room), the assistant finally brought us the correct ones. When he did appear, he acted like he was doing us a favor to wait on us. Told me I could not keep one menu to look at the desserts because having the menus picked up was apparently the key to when they came to the table with the bread choices. The bottom of the sourdough was very hard. While the seafood was cooked perfectly, the flavor of the paella was on the bland side. It took the waiter some time to check back in about dessert, although we pointedly moved the plates out of the way. Very quick to drop off the check though. Also quick to bring back the change for my cash payment but said nothing when he did so. Not a ‘thank you’ or a ‘have a good night’ or anything. The view was wonderful as was the experience of having two quirky geese on the ledge outside the window. The assistant server was both professional and pleasant and she took the time to tell us a bit about the geese. The primary negative on this visit was the waiter, particularly his attitude, but it did cloud our perspective on the entire visit.
The food was delicious. The view was beautiful and service was great. They have the best birthday treat I’ve ever seen from a restaurant.
