What Zoé Pirotte doesn't like about The Garnet Cafe:
They have vegan options, like s stir fry with tofu and veggies. The pancakes are vegan (they accidentally admit). I ordered the quinoa patty. They were off him and substituted for a falafel patty. In an area with somewhat limited vegan options, Garnet is a treat. The last page of the menu is dedicated to vegetarian/vegan options. They have multiple non-dairy milks, including coconut, oat, soy, and almond. Their pancakes are vegan, and they have an herbivore breakfast plate. Their oatmeal is a little lackluster (compared to Belle's Brunch House, e.g but passable. They seem pretty popular (even on a Friday morning), and we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated.

OK. It was served on a spinach salad with a side of stir fried vegetables that were mostly spinach. It was good but very oily. They have vegan breakfast sausages, but only as a side, not in every meal. Downside is almost every menu item has duck jam. They also have a love of bacon and spam. There are bacon signs everywhere and diagrams of how to cut a pig. Even the bill is spammed, which is a classless act after ordering blatantly vegan.
The Garnet Cafe is the proverbial hole in the wall The restaurant resides in old house and it's located on a far corner.
I have been here a few times when I am visiting family.
When I give a 5 star review I really have to be blown away by food and service, and this place does it.
