The setting is elegant and ideal for a romantic dinner or intimate gathering. The service is highly attentive and the staff's choreographed movements are a spectacle in themselves. While some found the prices expensive, others felt it was worth it for the overall experience. The food received mixed reviews with some finding it excellent and complex, while others felt portions were small or lacked distinctiveness. However, the impeccable service and ambiance left a lasting impression on most diners. Overall, Orchids is highly recommended for those looking for a memorable and special dining experience.
Wonderful experience! our server George V. was absolutely exceptional the entire time, very attentive and funny and just an overall great individual! went with 4 people on a not very busy night and the food was perfect! we had the grazing board and shrimp cocktail appetizer and they were both wonderful! we got the scallops, the pork, and the beef filet for our entrees and everything was cooked perfectly, the pork was tender and the beef was cooked to perfection! we each also got a drink from the bar and everything was wonderful, definitely didn't skimp out on any pours. the desserts were also fantastic, we got the peanut butter chocolate pie, the cheesecake, and the peach tart and everything was so yummy we couldn't get enough! Definitely a great option for a nice dinner when in town Dietary restrictions: good gluten free selection, appetizer, entree, and dessert
Orchids was one of my favorite restaurants. I understand it may be unfair to compare this experience to what Orchids delivered but I expected much more than what we experienced. We arrived expecting to be seated in the beautiful dinning room which is such an iconic area only to find that that area was closed due to prep for a morning buffet. Had I known that would be the case I would never have reserved a table. So we were seated at a table in the area that surrounds the beautiful dinning area. In this space there was a broken table next to ours. The service was extremely slow and disorganized. While we ordered apps before ordering entrees our entrees arrived before all the apps and one app was never delivered. The food was okay but so far from what Orchids had served that to say this experience was even a shadow of orchids would be a huge over statement. I brought my family hoping to recapture just a small part of what we had experienced at Orchids in the past… I could not have been more disappointed
Such a great brunch. Classic. Prime rib and ham. Great sides. Service was attentive.
Orchids is by far the best high-end restaurant in Cincinnati. The atmosphere alone is absolutely breathtaking—you feel as though you’ve been transported back to the elegance of the 1930s. It’s worth taking a moment to admire the stunning artwork on the ceilings and the meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the design. The food is good, but keep in mind that the menu is chef’s choice, so it’s a good idea to check what’s being served beforehand to ensure it suits your tastes. The live music and the beautiful water fountain add even more charm to the experience. Overall, it’s a gorgeous place with great ambiance and good food.
We were seated for our 11:00 reservation a few minutes after 11:00. Our first contact with our server was at 11:20. She advised us that the kitchen was changing over from breakfast to lunch and it would be 20 minutes before she could take our order. I can’t speak to the food or drinks because we were unable to wait. Not sure what is happening to this beautiful restaurant, it was real disappointing.
