The Motel Coffee Shop in Carmi has been there for a long time. The motel behind the coffee shop doesn't really do much business, if any, it's about rundown. They've been there for a long time. The coffee shop itself is pretty much a greasy spoon, but a good one. My friend and I went for breakfast, we both had eggs, bacon, and potatoes. My eggs were cooked to perfection. Bacon was crispy, the coffee was good as well.... View all feedback.
What Cheryl Welker dislikes about Coffee Shop:
I hate to give just one star review but the breakfast we had was the worse we have ever had. It was cold, my scrambled eggs had slimmy uncooked egg whites laying on them. My husband who never complains about breakfast said I don't know how you screw up a breakfast but they sure did. Im hoping our waitress was just having a bad day cause she was not very friendly. Maybe just a bad day for all. View all feedback.
My coworker and I eat at The Coffee Shop frequently. All of the food is good. The prices are reasonable and you will receive friendly service.

It's a nice old coffee shop, takes me back to easier times, go and check it out. If this review is helpful, please give me a thumbs up.
Best beef Manhattan ever I drove from Albion Illinois to get a couple full orders.used bring my clients in there years ago one was a 100 year old man!!
On our way to Garden of the Gods from Indiana, we stopped by Carmi for food. I initially thought this place was just a run of the mill coffee shop, but I was surprised to find that this was a full blown restaurant. Not only was it a full blown restaurant, it was a dang good one too. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart. Prices were great too. Only costed me $30 plus tip to feed a group of three. And I gave them a Ulysses S. Grant because the service was phenomenal. I haven’t mentioned the best part yet. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I really enjoyed Carmi, and we will be back if we are back.
This is a family owned restaurant. Their food is delicious and always the right temperature. The ladies who serve us are friendly and polite. The owners work side by side with the servers to help whenever necessary. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone whether local or traveling thru town.
