"A gem in Carleton Place both for the food and the views! It has an incredible water backdrop if you?re on the patio and inside is a bougie, modern atmosphere. I?ve been here a few times now and have not been disappointed- food and service has been more or less consistently good (we had one bad experience on both fronts). Ribs are fall off the bone and calamari was a different on two separate occasions (one we liked and the other wasn?t much of a fan of but will give it credit for the creativity). Would highly recommend."

"We have eaten here three times now and the service and food have been excellent everytime. Large portion sizes and wonderful Persian food. Highly recomend the lamb shank as well as the Sultani."

"The space, in an old mill, is beautiful. The food was delicious. The service was good albeit reserved. Would I return: Yes, on occasion it's a bit spendy for a lunch out, so not an everyday restaurant for me. Would I recommend: Yes however, may be best to make a reservation."

"A group of 6 friends went to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. After hearing good things we decided to give it a try, but we were all dissapointed afterwards. The restaurant is far in the outskirts (in case you are not familiar with the...Ottawa area), but our real issue was the rude service from our waitress and the very confusing menu. As we were a group of six, we had no other choice but to take the “sharing experience” option, yet the menu listed individual plates and prices which was very confusing (apparently this is only applicable for 5 people or fewer). When asked for clarification her reponse was to keep close attention on the reservation rules and was giving us dirty looks, then just throwing plates roughly and of course when the bill came in an automatically 18% tip was enforced. Food was okay, but not excellent, and I guess when you visit a restaunt like this one a big price tag is somewhat expected, but out overall experience makes me hesitate recommending this place."

"We had a great time dining there. We ordered the house wine, lamb rack and cheese escargot and calamari. The appetizers were above average. If we didn’t have a late lunch we would definitely order more dishes. The lamb rack was divine, it was done perfect. Their house wine was pretty good too. Customer service was great, they were all friendly and welcoming. We wanted to pay a visit on civic holiday but they didn’t open, it was ok, we will for sure visit again and try other dishes."

"My daughter and I shot some balls at the driving range and after dropping something off at my son's we both agreed that we have lunch for our 2nd time at the Cheshire Cat.As expected there were a lot of cars in the parking lot and we saw people sitting outside waiting for a table. We went in and gave our name and within 10 minutes we had our choice of tables on the patio.Service was fast and friendly to take our drink order and quickly followed up by taking our food order.While at first glance you might think the prices are a bit high if comparing to some other pubs, this is NOT just another pub. The food, while pub fare is lovingly prepared by a talented chef in the same way you can expect food to taste when at a high end restaurant for dinner.They buy locally grown and locally raised (as in meats) and you can taste the difference. The meals taste robust and flavourful and are of a very generous size where once again we both left with doggie bags (however doggie never got any of the leftovers).Its a short 10 minute drive from my home so I will be heading back soon to try one of the music nights when they have live entertainment."
