Contribute FeedbackGreen Chili restaurant in Calgary has received mixed reviews recently. Some diners have noted a decline in food quality and customer service, with one reviewer experiencing stomach issues after eating there. However, others have praised the authenticity of the Indian cuisine, the friendly staff, and the delicious dishes such as butter chicken and garlic naan. Overall, while some diners have had negative experiences, others have greatly enjoyed their meals at Green Chili and have recommended it to others.
Green chill was my favorite restaurant in calgary, but the food quality has deteriorated lately and the customer service is not available. server sent me to dq to use washroom even though I was her client. bad eating and poor service.
I chased an Indian food, so I ordered it in front of the door. butter huh and tear, how can they go wrong. In the evening and the last night I had the worst magen cramps, which are thrown up and it is carried out until today. I will never order from green chili again. if I survived.
After trying to eat the advertised buffet lunch at the Crowfoot location and finding it closed, we drove down to this place since we were in the mood for Indian Food. Finding it was a bit challenging for someone out of town but find it...we did. We saw a sign in front saying parking in rear but we were in the wrong lane to turn left so we made some adjustments and found a pay parking lot behind the row of commercial establishments. We were a bit put off by that too so we found a spot on the road, only to find a sign at the back entrance of the restaurant indicating that they will validate parking (a very good thing). We entered at 11:30 and there were no customers. We were seated at a table and offered beverages and accepted water. The buffet included a large vat of steamed rice, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry, Stir Fried Vegetables, Channa Masala, a Cauliflower dish, and Eggplant. There was also Pakora and a couple of dishes of cold vegetables, somewhat resembling a salad. Desert was a choice of green melon or rice pudding with a texture of glue. On to the food itself: First off the temperature of everything was barely lukewarm, even though we were the first (and only) customers. Next, none of the dishes had any of our accustomed heat from spices. The butter chicken was rubbery and had a flavor more like ketchup. The goat curry had a better flavor but no punch. The Channa Masala had a hint of spicy. All in all, I would not say that any of the dishes warranted a thumbs up. To make matters worse, shortly after leaving, both of us began to feel less well than when we entered. Four hours later we are both repeating our less than stellar choice of dining experience. It is not likely that we will ever return and, unless something miraculous happens there, I would not recommend it to anyone. The buffet for two was $30 which we can heartily say that we would have enjoyed spending elsewhere. When I asked the man there when they get busy he replied I don 't know , perhaps another indication that others may feel the same.
Even though we live in the area for many years, we had never visited Green Chili, always just driven by.
Had to change my review due to the last several orders being disappointing.
