While visiting in the area my daughter and I had a delightful dinner at South Coast Grill (Its new name). We started with drinks and had an excellent caesar salad to start. What User dislikes about Tall Ships Waterfront Grille:
Recently had lunch there. The food was very quick. They had a smaller menu for the weekend since it was so busy. Our server was a bit abrupt. Perhaps she was tired or was having an off day but don't take it out on your customers. Hostess who sat us was very friendly and put us in a shaded spot. Have not had great meals there the food is always just ok. It's a beautiful spot they just need to get the food and service... View all feedback.
Not a lot of dining options, so you are paying for location mainly. Food is average, can't say it was fresh or interesting, especially given the prices. Service tho was good, view and patio was ok, and drinks well priced.
This is a delightful place to have a pleasant view out over the St. Lawrence River and the boat marina below. Really great beer, but the food is mediocre at best. So go for the location and a drink or coffee, but not to eat.

Everything was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive.
Two of our friends invited my wife and I to join them for supper at the Tall Ships Waterfront Grille, and as we had not been there before, we thought we'd give it a try.The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed on the second floor of the Tall Ships Condo Tower. It boasts unparalleled views of Blockhouse Island and the beautiful St. Lawrence River, with unobstructed views east and west. We sat in the outdoor balcony area. Our waitress told us the daily specials as she delivered menus to all four of us. She took our drink orders and left us to ponder the menu. My wife and I decided to order the daily special - a 6 oz filet mignon topped with garlic shrimp, white wine reduction, fingerling potatoes and lemon vegetables with beef barley soup as an appetizer, for $25 per person. We waited about 1/2 an hour for the food to arrive, and our waitress delivered warm rolls and butter to our table. Our friends also ordered one of the same specials, cooked med-well, and one butternut squash ravioli. Our food arrived and was well presented. My steak was fairly tough and I thought a little sour tasting. I put it down to the lemon vegetables and white wine. My wife's steak (also med-rare) was tough and full of sinew, she could not chew it. We brought it to the attention of our waitress who offered to inform the manager of our dissatisfaction. Our friends med-well steak was acceptable but the butternut squash ravioli was under cooked and not light and fluffy as it was the first time she ordered it a month or so ago. The manager arrived and asked what was wrong. My wife explained and the manager said that the cooks were not new and worked at other establishments in Brockville. He said he would take something off the bill. His attitude was arrogant and a little unfriendly - not what you would expect from this place. My wife had left over half of her steak on the plate as it was inedible. The waitress brought our bill and 15% or $3.75 discount had been applied to our bill. At the very least, my wife should have been offered a new steak or the manager should have not charged for her meal. We feel disappointed with the way the manager handled our complaint, and will probably not return or recommend this place to friend, which is a shame as we are Brockvillians and likely would have returned at a future date.My wife and I consider ourselves fairly knowledgeable about food and in our experience, filet mignon should be fork tender and free from sinew and fat. This steak was inferior and at best sirloin steak cut to look like filet mignon. Diners beware!
