Gray's Ice Cream, located at the end of the pier in Bristol, Rhode Island, is an extension of the original Gray's in Tiverton, offering fantastic treats and beautiful waterfront views. The ice cream is described as high-quality and homemade in consistency and flavor, with recommendations for flavors like pistachio and coconut. While some reviews mention issues with taste and flavor, others appreciate the customer service and the ability to accommodate dietary restrictions such as gluten allergies. Despite some mixed reviews, Gray's Ice Cream seems to offer a charming spot near the waterfront for delicious treats.

Excellent ice cream place. Large portions, big selection, fast service. I had the mint chocolate ice cream and it was great. Recommended.

Ice cream was just okay. Not giving samples at the moment which made it hard to choose a flavor, and the Oreo sundae was heavy on every ingredient except the ice cream. But cute spot near the waterfront nonetheless!

Grays Ice Cream is situated at the end of the pier on Thames Street in Bristol, RI, right next to the Thames Bar and Grille. This spot is an extension of the original Gray's in Tiverton, which has been around for quite some time and offers just as delightful treats. After enjoying lunch next door at the Thames Waterfront Bar and Grill, grabbing a scoop here felt like the perfect way to cap off the meal. On that warm day, the cool ice cream complemented the beautiful scenery beautifully, providing a sweet finale to my lobster roll. This location has a charming shack-like vibe, complete with cedar siding and a large, painted medallion of an ice cream cone above a small ordering window. While Grays doesn't provide dedicated seating, there are plenty of benches and rails around where you can savor your treat while taking in the view of Bristol Bay. As for the ice cream itself, it truly delights. It seems to be made with high milk content and fat, giving it a rich, homemade taste and texture. I tried the pistachio first (which I highly recommend) before settling on the coconut flavor, which was simply delicious. My friend Sid opted for the Cookie Dough, and it was equally impressive. If you're an ice cream lover like I am (it's the one dessert I can never resist), you definitely need to visit Grays. Just a heads up: like many small stands and shops, Grays is cash-only. – John (also posted on Yelp)

I'm giving this place three stars solely for the good customer service. However, the ice cream was quite disappointing. It had an overly syrupy and artificial flavor, unlike any ice cream I've tried before. I wasn't a fan.

Gray's Ice Cream is located at the end of the pier at 259 Thames St, Bristol, RI 02809, right next to Thames Bar and Grille. This spot is an extension of the original Gray's in Tiverton, which has been delighting customers since 1923 and is also excellent, offering beautiful views of the coast. After enjoying lunch at Thames Waterfront Bar and Grill, stopping by Gray’s felt like the perfect way to wrap up our meal. The weather was warm, and the refreshing ice cream was the ideal complement to the scenic views, providing a delightful finish to my lobster roll. The setting is charming, featuring crisp cedar screens and a large, beautifully lacquered ice cream cone medallion hanging above a small service window. Gray’s experience truly enhances the leisurely seaside atmosphere.
