Cafe Bema - Brisbane

Absolutely enjoyed coming here! First time ever and the ladies were so friendly and very polite. Oh and the food. Wow. I loved it! Definitely would love to come back again for sure.

Came because they were a dog friendly cafe, we're greeted and sat down. Awesome comfortable chairs. Had me sold once I saw they had a soft she'll crab burger. Sooo tasty.

Cute little cafe nestled in the heart of Paddington. It doesn't look like anything special from the road, but the lunch menu is great! I went straight for the Soft Shelled Crab Burger that come with a Black Brioche Bun. OMG it looked fantastic! (See the photo!). Dog friendly, and there are highchairs for the little people! Love this joint, and cannot believe that I have not tried it sooner!

This great little cafe was once Lure which had a very loyal following for quite a long time. I really hope that some of Lure's customers return to what is now in its place, Cafe Bema. I've eaten here twice now, once for lunch and once for breakfast, both times we had our children with us. The food (and drinks) here are really impressive, executed with care and attention and all offered at a very reasonable price. The first time for lunch our kids had a kids serve of fish and chips. I'm always a bit skeptical about kids meals as often they are less than satisfactory but the fish (barramundi) was exceptional, juicy and thick fillets with light batter and the serve was incredibly generous for $10. My husband had a huge chicken burger which he really enjoyed and struggled to get through and I had a chicken curry - the chicken was lighly crumbed (tonkatsu style) sliced with a bowl of rice and a bowl of really good curry sauce and pickled vegetables. It was really delicious. Our breakfasts were also great, the big breakfast was enough for my husband and I, the kids had a kids serve of french toast and the eggs benedict both of which were well done. The new chef is Singaporean and there is a hint of his heritage in some of the dishes which makes things a bit more interesting than usual. Please give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! Be sure to try the smoothies too - they are divine! Plus the coffee is well done too. Enjoy!
