I was excited about one half of the soup pairing of traditional chunky pea and ham soup, but was a bit nervous about the second soup of pumpkin with coriander. I've always been a fan of pea and ham and really enjoyed the thick and hearty soup. I'm not a fan of pumpkin and it lists as one of my least favourite vegetables, but I'd decided to give it a go anyway and to my surprise, quite liked it. View all feedback.
What Billie Stroman dislikes about L's Espresso Cafe:
here with the partner for a fast, weekly breakfast. we ordered the scones and the speck and iron. the skorn was small, dry and crumbling. the jaffle was actually not a jaffle, but more a toastia with speck, eiern and barbeque sauce. even so the toastia was almost so tender. our experience in service was friendly and efficient. casual ambiente with limited seating area. price for quality and quantity. total a measure. Great food at a great prices especially for the city. All the sweets are made at the cafe delicious! Good meeting spot because downstairs are good toilets and it is across the road from King George Square Bus Way Stop. Closest the to Adelaide St end of the arcade. Good fun to have a wander up to the Gallery Level to see all the jewellery and down to Kerri Craig's as well as the main level where the cafe is.
Stopped for a quick coffee in the afternoon. A lot of coffee shops are closed at this time so we were happy to find them open. The coffee was good and the cake was fresh. Prices were competitive. No complaints.
I believe this place has changed management since I was here last- and it’s still as good, if not better. If you’re after great quality simple food, this place is hard to beat. And the long blacks are pretty good too!
I have been here a few times now and am impressed. Good coffee, good breakfast and no runny egg whites! Hallelujah! Friendly staff and fast service, also well priced.
Whilst walking around Brisbane looking for a spot for breakfast, came across this place, seemingly jammed with pensioners. Menu looked ok, prices very reasonable for the mall. Really enjoyed the food and service. They don't fuss over you, but were friendly and accommodating. Decor reflects the average age of the customer base, but give it a try!
