Looked this place up on TripAdvisor and despite it looking quite basic initially, we enjoyed the most delicious flake and chips we've probably ever had! Also enjoyed the rustic, very warm outside heater as we are looking out on the wild water, the pelicans and seabirds.Good coffee too. Great little spot on a chilly day! View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Tasmanian Coastal Seafoods:
I wish I would once find a load in Australia, where salat is served, is not just plain salat and vinegar. there are so many simple dresses! even simply olive oil/Italian dried crimp or...mustard/lemon would make the job. as always, even the small part of the chips is so big that I don't have a chance to eat it - and I eat a lot. I got it, it's cheap! but what a waste of food and unnecessary food melodies. fish was in... View all feedback.
My dining experience at this restaurant on a Sunday at 1:00 was great. We had the option to sit by the water or in the cozy dining room upstairs, which had a charming coastal and rustic vibe. The menu consisted of traditional fish and chips, and we decided to try the seafood platter for two. The platter included gummy shark, octopus tentacles, prawns, chips, and more. The food was served quickly and was fresh and hot, with a tasty batter that wasn't overpowering. The restaurant offered a variety of soft drinks, beer, and wine. The staff were friendly and professional, and there was live music starting as we were leaving. Overall, a lovely spot to enjoy delicious and fresh seafood.
Honestly, this is hands down the best fish and chips place in Tasmania. A lot of people will swear by the expensive flashy places, but honestly, keep it nice and simple and it usually turns out to be the best. This place doesn't try make the food fancy and does not spend a fortune on advertising. So what it does best is fish and chips, and boy does it deliver on that front. The fish is so damn soft and cooked to perfection in the batter. I'm always taken back by the quality and never disappointed. Try it out on your journey along the east coast!
The gummy shark is a must-order dish at this restaurant. The view is fantastic and the food is delicious.
One of the best fish&chips I have ever eat. We got the 15$ Calamari Box (6 calamari, they could add some more for the price you pay) and the 20$ Kingfish Fish&Chips. They advertise themselves as an award winning Fish&Chips, and I totally agree with that. PS: they charge way too much if you want sauce… 2$ for the tartare and sweet chili and 1,5$ for the tomato sauce. For these reasons I don’t give them the 5 stars.
Great location, great views, great calamari and chips, paired with a cold bevvie. We love returning to this little gem each year
