We found this by chance, but it was a good find... basic local cuisine, really good stuffing, I had the cream Bacalhau.. that is too rich for a person..split it three ways likely.. and suffered all night... but this also shows that I eat the lot!.... one of the stews was just falling apart delicious, and the other dishes were really good. The dining room is simple, but pleasant. the menu offers regional dishes. my trip with white buds and kartoffels was delicious. the prices are modest. on Tuesday night the dining room was almost empty. wine selection was amusing: when I asked the waiter to propose a good wine in the region, he went off and came back with four weeps, and he put all four bottles on the table. He offered no further help. I chose one that I was not familiar with, and it turned out that it was reasonable and fair worth on €10. most weeping on their lists range from €8 to €14.

It is a very local place, cafe tasca style, not imagination at all, but worth a visit, and very central in the pousada etc.

We passed here on Sunday lunchtime and it was packed with locals. A good sign. Good honest local food at very reasonable prices. Do not expect an English menu, but that is all part of being on holiday to my mind. Local house wine in...a jug is excellent value.
