Sunshine Thai Restaurant - Banora Point

Ordered take-out. One red curry, one pad Thai, both with chicken. Had a beer while waiting. Great staff and service, got the name and order right, and with a smile. Asked for some extra heat in the dishes (Aussie hot is everyone else's mild).Food arrived fast, hot and fresh. Took it back and dished up.The curry was top of the line. Excellent. Right spice, well cooked, great taste.The pad Thai was, sadly, dry, and had been cooked with egg noodles rather than the rice noodles promised on the menu. Marks off for that.I'd go back happily, but when ordering I'd demand a chat about the finer things...

The food tasted good although a little hot but for the prices the serving sizes were a little small. I think take away is better value for money.

This is our favorite Thai restaurant on the gold coast, excellent foo and great prices. It does get busy but it's worth any wait

So back again 2015, was the last time and so enjoyed it we came back. Simply fun place good service, friendly staff great food. Just on that it took less time for them to cook two mains and some steamed rice than The Goldfish Bowl in Armidale yesterday did to cook one pizza, still enough carping. I had red duck curry and L had Holy Basil prawns. Yummm the prawns looked and smelt good lovely soft flavour with just the right amount of chilli. Mine totally awesome duck not slimy at all which it sometime can be as it is s fatty bird. Chilli was tight on my borderline but fantastic. Will do it again!!!

I have eaten here four or five times each about six weeks to two months apart when I have been working on the southern Gold Coast.Each time I have been welcomed in a most friendly fashion and shown to a table where I could eat and read comfortably. I was looked after as though I were a high spending group of ten instead of a lone traveller. Great friendly staff and an excellent menu.The food comes when you want it and it is delicious. Not the usual range of preprepared sauces on tired plates but fresh and delicious. This is one restaurant I look forward to visiting. Highly recommended and reasonably priced. It caters for tourists and locals, always a good indicator on the tourist strip.
