Some have been extremely disappointed with their experience, citing issues such as empty mussels, long wait times, forgetful wait staff, and overpriced dishes. Others, however, have had a much more positive experience, praising the fresh and well-prepared seafood dishes, friendly staff, and clean dining area. Despite some drawbacks such as noisy surroundings and overly cold air conditioning, many customers still recommend this restaurant for its delicious food at a reasonable price. Ultimately, your experience at the Bell-Buoy may vary depending on the time of year and day of the week, but it seems overall the quality of the food and service is worth a visit.
Friendley down to earth always busy and people keep coming back.I know people that drive over a hour to come here. The chowder is the only item on the menu that I have tried that's a little to much fish .I am more a seafood lover or should I say shellfish like lobster and scallops. The rest of the menu is fine and even the specials were very good.
We went for lunch. The wait was a bit long but not the hostess or waitress told us it could be longer than usual. Found it was a bit overpriced for the portions we receive. Terrific location though.
Decided to spend both of our nights in Baddeck dining at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Good fish and great red wine from Nova Scotia - get over having to say a bottle of Great Big Frigging Red - and enjoy it!
We were pleasantly surprised everything was fresh ,the chowder was made fresh as the seafood as still soft and not over cooked. The lobster sandwich was made a a light fluffy oatmeal bread it was great as well ,nice view and great service.
We had the salmon...prepared two ways. Both were less than mediocre. Not really much to see out the pan-am windows.
