Convenient mid-Racecourse Road. spacious with inside and alfresco tables. Extensive menu. Excellent fast drink and meal service. Good quality food, especially meaty fat-free bacon, eggs any style. although set components, willing to mix and match! Very reasonably priced. Doesn't get much better View all feedback.
What Obie Batz dislikes about Cafe 63:
Service was great initially but the waitresses failed to see our raised hands to add to our order, point blank. Drinks were average, nothing outstanding or subpar. Ordered pancakes and it was plated beautifully. However it tasted like cardboard. Pancakes were overcooked and tasted hard and crunchy, especially along the edges. It really was the worst pancakes I've ever had. I didn't try anything else but I can't recom... View all feedback.
Pros: - wide selection of food - portion is good - environment is super nice - staff are friendly just one thing... Maybe it was the first time I tried soy latte in Brisbane, it just tasted totally different from all the soy latte I had in Sydney...the froth got a very strange taste and the coffee also tasted weird, not sure if it was due to different soy milk used.
Myself and various family members have eaten at this Cafe 63 on four or five occasions and all have been very impressed with the brilliant value and service. Cannot get enough.
The kk burger was the winner today. I ordered it with a side of hollandaise so essentially had a eggs benny burger- great value for $8. Egg was cracked like an unmixed omelette- would have been so much nicer soft fried. Had a few hiccups with ordering a side of fries and drinks took forever to come. A bit of miscommunication and a waitress trying to rectify resulted in me getting 2 sides. Mushrooms on the rosti were delicious but the poached egg was hard and it just wasn't for me. I think I'm done with these cafes for now. They're kind of like ikea- so much cheap food I over order and feel sick after. I don't mind mistakes but they seem to be the norm.
There is a wide selection of meals and they are flexible with substituting menu items. I requested halloumi instead of toast and they did so without extra charge. The halloumi was grilled to perfection and wasn't too salty. I just wished they'd served two pieces instead of one. The placement of food on the plate was odd but every element was cooked well. I also had an iced latte which was good. It's a very busy place but definitely accommodates for a lot of people.
After our lunch at Hosokawa we walked next door to Milani to see the gelateria CLOSED! Fortunately, Cafe 63 is just a dozen paces away and as our cheery waitress takes us to our table we order our coffees. Five minutes later our coffees arrive. My double shot Latte looks rich with flavour and my first sip is simply wonderful. The Latte is served hot and is robust with flavour. This is one of my best cups of coffee in 2017. Even without my usual half teaspoon of sugar this Latte is superb. Rating: 5.0/5.0 Dom an Italian is admittedly a coffee snob. He agrees his Double Espresso is good but was unhappy about the tiny serving. He finished his Espresso in two sips before I can take a photo. Rating:4.0/5.0 Please continue using this coffee bean and congratulations to your skilful Barista.
