"I was quite excited to have a 16 point Gault Millau meal last weekend to celebrate a year of achievements with family and friends. My excitement slowly diminished as the meal progressed due to our server's etiquette. When serving the water, the server went over the person sat across from me and filled my glass facing me over the table. We then ordered wine. I teach sommelier courses and was genuinely interested in the wine menu. I wanted to keep the wine menu to continue reading the selection, but the server took the open menu from my hands. My colleague asked for it back because he was aware that I was still reading; unlike the server. My family and colleagues all ordered the five course surprise menu. I wanted to order courses separately because the menu items sounded fantastic. I asked the server if I could please order the dessert after the fourth course because I wanted to see how full I would be. He enthusiastically said that it would be fine. Two other servers delivered the fourth course (I believe 1 lady was a manager) so I waited for our server to bring the dessert menu. He never returned. Another two servers brought everyone their desserts, but I never had an opportunity to ask. I then saw our original server and asked if I could please see the menu for dessert. He then handed me a menu- but never opened the menu to the dessert section. I had to eat my dessert 10 minutes after everyone else had theirs. There were a few other server etiquette issues, but trip advisor is probably not the best place to air all concerns. Perhaps I over assess because I manage a hotel business school and my husband manages another Gault Millau restaurant. Regardless, the other servers, manager and the chef were all let down by a particular staff who maybe lacked training or had a bad day. At least the breakfasts were fantastic and the hotel was gorgeous."

"What to say. that is the best culinary experience in Switzerland. the castle is a unique location between mountains, forests and a small village close by. the service is fantastic. that eat amazingly both in taste and presentation. they just have to choose how many courses their menu must have and caminada and its personal will guide them through a sensory experience of taste, colors and perfumes."

"Absolutely recommended! for an entrance of 4 pieces they experience a spectacular nature spectacle. through the gas house it goes directly into the slut and at the end you already hear the waterfall. the Rhine falls into the deep and you walk in a rock gallery below. simply great! it is also recommended to read the small museum in the pension where they can read the interesting family history about the development of roffla schlucht. the thought that the niagara the Falls have played a big roll here and of course it is worth ending a strengthening in the same name restaurant, eating is extremely tasty and the personal very nice and attentive."

"Hi! I am an international traveller , living in the USA, visiting Switzerland with my little dog. I do speak german) My friend, who is Swiss, recommended this restaurant en route to Tessin. To start with the positive: Food was excellent, the waterfountain outside for our thirsty dogs very much appreciated... The SERVICE was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! The staff unfriendly , rude, impolite and agressive to a degree Me and my friend never ever had experienced! There were no glasses at the water service station. When I kindly asked, the waitress bruskly said: „ glasses will come....“ 5 Minutes later she rushed by us and left 5 glasses ob the counter.... rushing by us again,saying: „here they are..“ Another guest commented on her rude behaviour. she is a bit heavy set, wearing glasses, hair tied up in the back) Before this encounter I went with my very well behaved SERVICE Dog, to the shop where the cashier is, only to be yelled at, that dogs are not allowed in here: „ there is the door“....!!!!! Coming in from another entrance I had not seen this door, indicating a no- entry sign for dogs. THEN I went to the other shop‘ Vitamarkt‘ inside this restaurant, only to be told : you must hold the dog on a short leash... my dog was at arms lenght) Due to just another unfriendliness I said: „I rather leave this shop, not wanting to buy anything anymore.“ What‘s wrong with these people?? Where I come from and at most gastronomic places in the world- the NICE guest is still the king!!!!!! Did these waitresses ALL had a bad day???????? My friend who visits this restaurant frequently was utterly shocked and surprised, pointing out, how nice the manager ! Maybe bad experiences with ill educated dogs led to this agressive behaviour towards guests with dogs- but „ the tone makes the music“!!!! To round this experience up: Above the cashier is a sign on the wall, Reading: The world is an INSANITY ASYLUM And here is center of it... Besides this sign being an insult to all mentally ill patients, THIS SAYS IT ALL about this restaurant! Katrin Fechler"

"Perfect place to finish our hike. the restaurant has a large outdoor terrace, but given the weather we have eaten in the inner while it was out. In addition to enjoying a warm gluh wine, we also enjoyed some brain with mushroom sauce, spatzle and red cabbage and it was really good!"
