Like many other reviewers, we felt our hand had been forced as we were staying in Alençon on a Sunday evening and this seems to be the only restaurant which is open! I visit Alençon a few times a year and this used to be a favourite. Last visit was a big disappointment. The service was mediocre. I had a ‘choucroute de la mer’ which was good, until I bit into a rotten prawn. When I reported this to the waiter, he brushed it away.
