"I have dined at Sushi-Ya perhaps a half-dozen times. Every time I do I am always impressed with the quality of the sushi, the care and details of the presentation and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. I can’t believe it has taken me...this long to give this little gem 5 stars. Flight crews (or anyone for that matter), laying over at Pearson take note; this is THE place for sushi on the strip. It is the freshest and tastiest meal you are going to get in a sea of chain restaurants. As a bonus, if you happen to luck into Son as your server, your meal will be just that much better! PS: I know it is not necessarily Japanese but the kimchi is out of this world!"

"I had the dynamite roll bento box - it was delicious! the rice was sticky like it should be and the sushi so flavorful. And it was the best tempura I've had in a long time. There was so much food I couldn't finish it. The food is worth the wait...The restaurant is small - I had takeout, but I didn't order in advance (my mistake). So I (and others waiting for takeout), were awkwardly standing around for at least 20 minutes. Also, the poor waitress was alone and the place was packed so service was a little slow but again, if you call ahead you should be fine. It seems like the people dining in were waiting a long time with no service. If I had to critique one thing it would be that: not enough servers during a busy time (lunch). But honestly I've been to other restaurants with slow service that ruined my experience, but this place it didn't matter the food was so good Ill definitely go again even if its a long wait!"
