"First choice for a guaranteed meal and service when meeting friends, it never disappoints. Viv runs a great restaurant and he has excellent support from his team. In terms of food I rarely decide what to eat instead I put my trust in Viv to decide that for me, it’s the best way! Last evening Viv recommended a new dish Kachampuli (I had a lamb version) served with Dal and Naan, very nice indeed! The first taste is acidic but then the flavours change to fruit and spice and eaten with the Dal I really enjoyed it. If you don’t choose this particular dish do try leaving your choice to Viv, I doubt you will be disappointed."

"This place was recommended by a friend so we gave it a try this evening. We were not disappointed. Food was amazing and it was garnished with great service. Finished off with a peanut butter dessert to die for. Thank you Ribs Co, we will be back and we will be bringing our friends."

"We been coming from Brighton to the plough for many years now and never been disappointed with excellent food freindly staff and service the menu has changed since our last visit so torn between the chicken and Chiritzo pie or Chili con carne I myself cook a blinding chili con carne so was Wary that it would not live up to my expectations wow! It was fantastic and enjoyed so much I must ask the Chef his secret next time we visit"

"Had lunch here with parents and was very disappointed. It has really gone down hill. The whole place looks rundown and shabby and dirty. A refurbishment would give it a new lease of life. The ladies toilets were grotty, dirty grouting around sink and dirt on floor and unpleasant smell. The welcome was non existent by the manager or barman behind the bar. Could barely be bothered to speak. I said we had come here for my father in laws 91st birthday and he just didn’t respond. The table was old and worn and sticky and chairs very old and worn out. Could do with updating the furniture. There were cobwebs and dust on the dried out faded hops on the ceiling. The menu was a bit uninspiring but ok. My mum was disappointed by the garlic chicken Kiev. no garlic butter inside just in a jug and the green beans were very hard and inedible. I had the turkey which was ok but a mean portion of vegetable for two people so had to ask for another portion. The meat in the steak and kidney pie was also chewy and tough. My parents had a dessert. The crumble was lovely and hot and came with custard but the crème brûlée cheesecake was a mean portion considering it was £7. I think the desserts were over priced. We gave the waitress a tip as she was very good and cheerful and friendly but when we left we walked right past the manager and he didn’t even say thank you or goodbye. Such a shame as nice location and nice building. We will not be returning."

"The Pine cafe is not as good as the previous layout. Also the food is expensive, but that is often the case when there is no comptition nearby. Two slices of toast and butter and jam costing £2.99 and add a hot drink to that is very expensive. Eleswhere you can get a very good cooked breakfast for less."
