"The Fat Chef.... wonderful. Had a lovely lunch there today. Richard in the kitchen and Phillipa front of house. Friendly, charming old cottage. Food that we had was superb mine was the 'sort of Chicken Ceasar ' brilliant... fresh chook, crispy croutons, delish avo and boiled egg had such a deep golden yolk. My other half had the battered fish n chips fish was super, white and moist, and the batter was gorgeous. Great coffee too. We will definitely be back. 10 out of 10... well done to the new owners and very best wishes for a happy and constant stream of customers. Oh... woof, woof Max (he loves you to toss the ball for him). P.S. Tried to post this on Trip Advisor but could only get the former 'Old Stone Cottage '. Posted there anyway so hope Trip Advisor picks up and does a name change... unless the Ayre 's have to do that."

"Used to go here regularly but since it's become Tonic by the Bay, limited menu, edpensive , kitchen closed for a function thus no food for other customers. Then one of my guests asked to show ID when there was a girl about 12 at...the bar next to us. Didn't feel very welcome. Disappointed as new renovations are great."
