"On our first evening in Porthleven, we walked the harbor all the way around from our cottage in spitting rain very windy conditions to enjoy a meal at The Ship Inn. Our hopes were high given our trek thru chilly less than ideal conditions. We were not disappointed in ANY aspect!! The atmosphere was lively, our table was tucked in a cozy corner where we could observe all the goings-on of English pub life, the service was fabulous, and our drinks and meals were SO GOOD!! In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we didn't hesitate on night#2 to go here again! The food is prepared perfectly, quantity quality are beyond suitable, and for a pub, we were rather impressed at how great the whole experience was when mirrored with price!! If in or near Porthleven, and looking for a great meal in a pub environment, GO HERE and experience for yourself!!"

"Great GF full English most items on menu marked as GF adaptable. Both brown and white GF bread available. Only very minor issue was they substituted the sausage with extra bacon instead of asking what we would like instead and did not mention that the sausage was not GF when ordering. Lovely small independent cafe worth a visit."

"We are on holidays from Wales and decided to book a table after walking past and noticing the amazing looking burger and it did not disappoint! Food was impeccable and the service was even better. Would definitely return if we are in the area."

"We went there on Saturday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary, big disappointment, very salty mackerel pate, fish pieces dry from being over fried, small pizza ordered which came like the toppings had been served on a poppadom, overall presentation very poor. We didn't complain...because we didn't want our evening completely ruined, we will go somewhere else and celebrate our wedding anniversary again as it was one of the big ones . We did tell the waitress we were bitterly disappointed, but only when she asked if everything was okay when we paid the bill. We didn't complain because it was our wedding anniversary and we both wanted an enjoyable evening without a dispute over the meal. We noticed the waitress telling the manager as we were leaving, but he didn't approach or stop us . One star only because I had to, I would have left the star rating blank."
