"Do not live in the area but staying nearby. Not so sure about the lay out when first entered but felt more comfortable with the shabby chic when shown to my table. Very clean cutlery/plates etc. Warm professional welcome from waiter who remained attentive throughout our stay, I attended with my husband, despite having a large number of covers as the evening progressed. First class imaginative food adapted to our particular preferences. Very gracious chef who later introduced himself to us. On consideration still feel some thought could be given to the reception 'space '. Admittedly there was a largish party as we entered which for me somehow restricted the room and created something of a corridor not so good! Perhaps limiting this immediate area to small tables would work better? Now looking forward to Sunday Lunch which we booked before leaving thank you!"
The restaurant also offers the possibility to sit outside and have something in beautiful weather.

"We, that is myself and my wife, along with my mother in-law, from Brazil, stopped in the RoyalOak, after a trip to see Sherwood forest, a that was organisedso my mum in-law could see tjhe Major Oak, and to visit the forest. A very worthwile visit, much enjoyed, after a lot of walking and some archery for me, great trip. We wanted to get some food, I knew the Royal Oak was going to be good after seeing some great reviews. i wasnt disappointed, although it was very quiet. We were welcomed as we enetered, ordered drinks, a very nice pint or Tiger and then ordered food, again not disappointed at all, it was very quick in arriving, te staff was very friendly and couldnt do enough to help, the food was so tasty and hot, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, my wife and mum in-law had the meat pie, very filling and hot, plentiful portions. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon after a lovely day wandering around Edwinstowe, including a visit to St.Marys church, what a beautiful peaceful place. Really looking forward to going back, even through its an hour and half drive!! The church even had a leaflet in portuguese for my mum in-law, who doesnt speak a word of english. Great trip Heartily recommended Thankyou so much for a lovely trip Paul Boston Lincolnshire"
What User likes about The Royal Oak: I and my wife were on week of slumber near edwinstowe and was recommended to this pub by a native. we were thrilled with the food it was delicious. Eating was really good and would have eaten happily more, but unfortunately I was full after my meal. I would recommend this pub to anyone who passes by as we were. beautiful staff and eating. wants to come back here again when we are ever back in the opposite. read more.

"Came here as a tradition with the family of my partners. this time we sat at the modern side of the restaurant. the service was good, but took awhile. the homemade brote were absolutely beautiful, but the appetizers were a branch. I think the menu has tried so hard with the aromen. whipped truffle infused camembert was too much and exaggerated. we also had a chateaubriand and it wasn't as good as I expected. I appreciate it's just meat, but I had better in the past. I mean, it has no taste. I think what the night is saved, what the mother of my partner has ordered for the desert because she absolutely loves it. the sweetshop."

What User likes about Bengal Spice: this is the second time that we used this Indian take, I would like to thank the chef for a wonderful vegetarian methi beautiful aromas. meal times were huge or at least my family fought to eat it all, so good portions, next time I will ask to be rice less on my meal!. read more.
