"Went here on my own on Saturday night about 9.00 for a chilled meal after loosing my dad. Very expensive cup of tea nearly £4.00 and not in a pot, rest of food was poor and badly presented and I just felt like they wanted to pack up and asked me several times if I had finished, when obviously, due to position of myknife and folk, I hadn’t. Unfriendly staff and what a shame as it is really quite a lovely restaurant with traditional atmosphere and lovely views. They are probably catering for end of night customers after pub which obviously was not happening! Very disappointing and expensive!"

"I and my friend went to scotch and rye for our dinner. when we came in, we sat right away with a friendly face. the bar staff max and connor were so stubborn and full of enthusiasm behind the bar. it has given energy into the bar. then, when we had a look at the cocktail menu, I didn't know what to have, so our waiter, who was also very friendly, beat the melon cooler, who tasted amazingly. our burgers, who were a mac and cheese and a wildburger, were so big and delicious. would highly recommend."

"Visited Girvans on Sunday after reading all the lovely reviews and I was pleased with the food, I ordered a Sweet chilli chicken and mozzarella Panini, which was lovely and my Husband had the Thinly sliced ribeye steak with Smoked cheddar, which he could not...fault, compliments to the chefs. The waitress I had was lovely, she attended to my every need, however the older staff were just stood there chatting while many of the young girls did all of the work. Also noticed that they were no male waiters which I found is very strange as we try to include all genders in 2021? I think it’s important as a business to show that you employ both male and females for waiters/waitress and not just females. Overall the food was lovely and the service was amazing, just shocked as the young girls seemed to be rushed off their feet while the older staff just stood chatting although it was very busy. Felt bad for the girls as they seemed so busy and they were running up and down the restaurant doing everything while what I assume is the manager/supervisor just stood and chatted, no helping them whatsoever. We did speak to another couple as we were in the line to pay and they did express the same concern for how understaffed they were and how poorly supported the young girls were, not faulting the young girls at all but maybe ensuring that the older staff are doing there jobs too and not just telling the younger ones to do all the work."

"Usually in this place need book table but i out was rain and i have got one without booking. Menu opposite entrance to restaurant not full, full one just inside for visitors. I ordered dough balls Pizza Express , dough balls Al Forno, polenta chips, Cannelloni and coffee latte. Dough balls Pizza Express serv with some butter. Were a little black from bottom. I cut it and enjoyed taste with butter. Dough balls Al Forno wasn 't tasty for me. The situation was saved only by a large amount of cheese. Polenta chips serv with sweet, not spicy, mustard sauce. I never ate it before. Polenta like porridge yes, but like chips, no. It is were interesting experience. I received them very hot. I had to wait for them to cool down a bit. In mustard sauce too much sugar, but oddly enough, it is did not spoil the taste much. Cannelloni the same i ate here first time in my life. Interesting experience. Not tasty for me. Coffee latte look good but taste just regular, nothing special. I back here and ordered leggera vegan giardiniera, beetroot bugha bowl and coffee latte. My mistake with coffee latte. It is not good idea mix with beetroot, so i drank just a little. Beetroot budha bowl interesting taste. Cooked beetroot are tasty. Too much spiced toasted seeds. Leggera vegan giardiniera it is kind od pizza with fresh salad in a circle inside. I have got too much burn on the bottom, so waiter change on new one. Taste just like good pizza, nothing special. If you like you can get Vegan Menu. Just say it waiter."
