"Visited this restaurant on recommendation. Booked early and clearly explained my allergy to dairy. Extremely hot day and the marquee had very poor ventilation it was like sitting in an oven. First course came within a reasonable time however main took one and three quarter hours to be delivered, despite the fact that it was not extremely busy, only to find that my meal was drenched in butter. It was suggested that they could do the meal again in oil however we did not have the time to wait considering the time it took in the first place. Staff then insisted on charging me for the meal which I refused to pay not a pleasant experience at all. For a prestigious restaurant at an well promoted international garden festival very little english spoken by staff. Travelled throughout France and Italy for a month and this rated as the 'most unpleasant experience '."

"We just made the 115 pm cut off for a table. So very glad that we did! Two price points for a fix prix menu and we all opted for the lower priced option (it was lunch after all). My brother in law had the chicken liver sald, my wife had the cauliflower soup and I had the endive goat cheese tart. We were all very pleased with our selections! For our mains, my other table mates ate the duck leg and I ate the beef. The duck was tender and succulent. My steak was pretty good.Two of us opted for cheese to end our meal, with my wife taking the lava chocolate cake.We've been traveling around Europe (5 weeks in Italy) and this was my wife's declared favorite meal thus far.Friendly service, affordable wine and meals! Thanks for the rating and great restaurant tip, Tripadvisor!!!"

"Had a very nice lunch here in 1990 so was interested to see how it has held up. The answer is very well. Both food and service were excellent, every course was very good. The waitress recommended the strawberry in vinegar tartare with candied beets...and beet sorbet which turned out to be a terrific suggestion."
