"We read about this local restaurant while staying at the Marco Polo RCI in Hinterthal. After eating once in the Marco Polo restaurant we decided to try other venues. We ended up eating twice at Botenwirt but might have eaten there even more but for the fact it was closed some of the week. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. They are friendly and speak a little English but get by very well as they have an English menu. The food is very good, great goulash soup, a terrific pasta with shrimp, good fish and a really nice pancake dessert. Good beer, generous glass of wine and all in all very well priced. For good Austrian food at a very reasonable price I highly recommend Botenwirt."
